Your Role 

We are looking for an Account Manager to support our South Coast business, managing approximately 18,000mt of sales and contributing to revenue of just over £8m annually. This is an opportunity to join a highly engaged commercial team and play a key role in developing new and existing customer relationships across the region.

Responsibilities 

In this field‑based position, you will focus on achieving the area sales budget through proactive, face‑to‑face engagement. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will promote our core products, identify growth opportunities, and build long‑standing customer partnerships. Your work will directly support our commitment to reliable service, strong customer relationships, and high‑quality commercial delivery.

  • Deliver monthly sales targets within the assigned territory.

  • Build and sustain strong, professional customer relationships through regular, purposeful engagement.

  • Plan and prepare all customer interactions thoroughly, with clear objectives and outcomes.

  • Produce accurate monthly activity, pipeline, and performance reports for the Sales Manager.

  • Develop and execute a geographical business development plan aligned to product strengths and priority markets.

  • Create and manage structured customer development plans for key and priority accounts.

  • Analyse profitability and performance using CRM, CGE, and Pivot reports to support data-driven decisions.

  • Respond to all sales leads on the same business day.

  • Ensure accuracy and clarity across all contracts, call-offs, and pricing documentation.

  • Lead managed product campaigns in collaboration with the
    Product Management team in Leeds.

  • Implement product pricing changes consistently across the customer base.

  • Utilise area management tools effectively, including daily orders, quotations, margin tools, and MOV/MOQ controls.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records following every customer interaction.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to support efficient and sustainable sales growth.

  • Log customer complaints in the Quality System and escalate issues in line with company procedures.

  • Complete reasonable ad-hoc tasks as requested by management.

Your Profile 

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner.

  • Strong prioritisation and time‑management skills.

  • Ability to contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.

  • Full UK driving licence required.

Education
  • Degree education or equivalent.

  • Experience in a commercial environment with strong analytical and sales capabilities.

  • Proficiency in ERP and CRM systems and in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
