Whilst this is primarily a Front-End role, we appreciate that at this point in your career you may not have a fully formed view of what direction you want to take your career, so you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the Back-End and other areas of our technical stack by working within one of our dynamic hybrid product teams.
This will ensure you become a well rounded developer and could pursue other specialities if you find you enjoy them - we would fully support you in this!
This is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for developing a truly ground breaking product.

You'll get to work in a friendly multi-disciplinary agile team and also work on innovative ideas during our quarterly One Team days, where collaboration between different teams is encouraged to find unique solutions.
Your main responsibilities:
You'll get to immerse yourself in engineering projects. We want to give you a place where you'll learn from us and we'll learn from you through getting involved in the following:

  • Work alongside others in the team to help deliver on Product and Engineering requirements, being an active participant in our Sprint ceremonies
  • Collaborate with Back-End, Infrastructure, QA and Product Managers within a multi-discipline agile team , working together to ensure we have full confidence in the features we are releasing
  • Strive for continuous improvement in how we work and deliver value to our customers
  • Take a structured approach to your continued learning and professional development
  • Learn and then follow our Agile Ways of Working to deliver work in a coordinated and considerate manner
  • Help ensure our code quality by feeding back on others work via our code review process

Success in this role will depend most on your approach, underlying skills and potential for growth, even if some of the above would be new to you.

  • This role would best suit someone who is several years into their career and have worked on a product or SaaS platform.
  • You will be experienced in Javascript frameworks, preferably React, along with integrating a complex frontend codebase into a backend API (ours is built in Ruby / Rails)
  • Demonstrable, and up-to-date knowledge of best practices and patterns when working in a large, scalable frontend codebase, and familiarity with CI setups
  • We work in very small teams and need "T-shaped" people, i.e. people who are willing to unblock themselves by doing simple changes in the backend if needed.
  • Understanding of Git, semantic HTML and CSS/SASS, using styled-components
  • You've begun to develop the skills to critically review technical solutions and identify potential performance / design system / security / scalability issues
  • Have excellent communication skills, excited and driven to solve challenging problems in a high performing agile culture and an interest in working in a product environment and taking a long term view to development of a platform
  • Have an aptitude for problem solving and a strong desire to work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver features on our product.
