Our Team

Semtech’s NPI (New Product Introduction) Product Engineering Team is a group of passionate and talented engineers that are the central engineering function for the development of new products, involved from product concept to end of-life, working with all internal cross-functional teams. The team is responsible for test coverage, yield optimization, product characterization, cost of product optimization, project logistics, and transfer to full volume manufacturing. We enable the delivery to our customers of a fully capable, quality product that meets our business objectives and we have a versatile team of individuals that make this a reality. 

Job Summary

As an Associate NPI Product Engineer, you’ll have the chance to:

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Design teams to influence product design for manufacturability, testability, and reliability.
  • Participate in product development decisions, focusing on cost-effective and scalable technologies.
  • Work closely with Test and Validation teams, contributing to test and characterization plans to ensure compliance and manufacturability.
  • Engage in hands-on technical tasks, such as performing capability analysis, yield modeling, and optimizing test coverage.
  • Support the production process, working with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges in wafer fabrication, packaging, and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data from automated test equipment (ATE) and bench measurements.
  • failure analysis and drive corrective actions for field returns.
  • Develop manufacturing documentation and coordinate product qualification plans.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure testability, manufacturability, and product quality.

What We’re Looking For
 

We’re seeking graduates or soon-to-be graduates in Electronic and Electrical Engineering who are ready to take their step into the  semiconductor industry.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Maths, Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or expected completion soon).

Preferred Skills and Experiences:

  • A passion for problem-solving, critical thinking and learning on the job.
  • Basic knowledge of semiconductor principles, automated test platform (Python, C, Java), statistical analysis.
  • Strong communication skills to present technical information effectively.
