Overview:

Our London location is searching for a talented Bid Manager to join the Community team.
Collaborates with the practice/office directors on local marketing strategy, practice implementation plans and target clients and project pursuits. Manages local practice implementation, collaborating with practice specialists on practice related marketing collateral, project photography, content and public relations, informing practice specialists of regional nuances related to local practice area. Seeks opportunities to provide support in order to achieve firm values and goals. Anticipates job expectations and contributes to strategic marketing solutions.

Responsibilities :

  • Works closely with studio/sector/office leaders to support their business development programme as the go-to and trusted source for regional business development efforts
  • Collaborates with regional directors to develop goals, objectives and strategies that align with sector strategy and for proactively developing new business
  • Collaborates with practice specialists on related pursuits and projects within the region and engages their support on practice specifics and messaging
  • Maintains familiarity with all local pursuits and key projects
  • Tracks BD efforts regularly through meetings and/or regional BD huddles
  • Collaborates with practice specialists on regional market implementation efforts and regional focused materials such as case studies, project imagery and external communication
  • Manages and creates regional RFQ, RFP and interview materials
  • Acts as a liaison for internal and external communications of local marketing news and developments
  • Coordinates local conference attendance and messaging; reports attendance and speaking topics to Communications Manager
  • Tracks local project milestones for grand openings, groundbreakings, completion, photography, etc. working with practice specialists
  • Tracks local projects for photography helping to determine level of photography needed and associated costs working with practice leader, photography manager and practice specialists
  • Tracks local award submission platforms desired by location, identifying projects, dates and workload; reports local/regional award wins and provides copies of award certificates to Communications Manager
  • Manages and prepare qualifications packages, proposals submissions and interview collateral including presentation boards and PowerPoint presentations, including writing and editing text and design layout with inclusion of graphics, resumes, project schedules, etc. working within firm brand standards
  • Gathers and shares competitive intelligence, client and competition research as required to support pursuit efforts, and shares with team
  • Provides strategic thinking related to marketing outreach: brochures, qualification packages, fee proposals and presentations
  • Maintains files in standard formats and filing structure
  • Creates, maintains and updates marketing resource materials working with the marketing resource manager
  • Assists team members in developing submissions for professional accreditation, fellowships and other honors and awards submissions
  • Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team
  • Manages conflict effectively and encourages a healthy team environment
  • Leads the proposal process for pursuit of new work
  • Partners in the interview process for pursuit of new work
  • Prepares materials for business development introductions and relationship building
  • Travel may be required

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Journalism, Graphic Design, Marketing or related discipline
  • Typically with 5+ years of marketing experience
  • Proficiency in InDesign
  • Experience in Photoshop and Illustrator graphic software preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred
  • Knowledge of and interest in architecture/interior design
  • Strong writing skills with experience in graphically designed page layouts
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and customers; ability to forge trusting relationships within a diverse team
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to manage team with diplomatic and collaborative leadership style which puts value on relationships and collaboration, both internal and external
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to problem solve and apply innovative solutions
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment, and ability to work independently and prioritise work
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
