Over view

Teledyne e2v has been trusted to design and deliver imaging sensors and sub-systems to over 150 space missions helping humankind to better understand the world we live in.

Teledyne e2v provides high performance CCD, CMOS and IR sensors for space science, earth observation, astronomy and high energy physics applications.  Sensors are designed, fabricated, post-processed, packaged and tested in our facilities in Chelmsford (UK) and Grenoble (France).

Teledyne e2v is now working on several large-scale, multi-year projects that are significantly increasing the demand level on its operations.  In recent years, Teledyne e2v has also secured contracts to deliver solutions at a focal plane level, including mechanical assembly, cryogenics and proximity electronics.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

  • Assessing customers Request for Quotes (RFQ) that have been received by the sales team

  • Creating a bid plan in support of a successful submission

  • Taking bid through the bid process - from customer request to proposal submission

  • Supporting and potentially leading any follow-on negotiations.

  • Leading the identified bid team to successful bid submission

  • Liaising with support functions such as commercial and export, ensuring the proposal is aligned with the needs of the business and is trade compliant.

  • Ensuring the proposal meets customers RFQ requirements.

  • Co-ordinating the cost estimates and proposals

  • Writing the management proposals and oversight of all other proposal volumes

  • Handing over at contract review to project manager

  • Timescales are often tight so the role requires a high level of organisation and drive.

  • Proficient in project planning/scheduling. With support from the Business Support Team/PMO, resourced schedule creation will be required for the bid.

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and in particular Microsoft Project

  • Reporting to (and delegation of, as required) Bid Management Lead.
