Job Description

Business Analyst - 37567

Ready to become the go-to expert behind a business-critical platform, helping teams make smarter decisions and deliver meaningful change? Want to use your analytical skills, industry knowledge and stakeholder expertise to shape the future of a complex energy operation? At EDF, Success is Personal – and this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.

The Opportunity

As a Business Analyst within our PPA technology team, you'll play a key role in supporting one of the most specialised and business-critical areas of our customers business. Working at the intersection of technology, operations and energy trading, you'll help drive improvements across systems, processes and data capabilities while supporting our journey towards An Electric Britain. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team with significant transformation activity underway and make a visible impact from day one.

You’ll join us on a salary starting of at least £45,000 per annum, with the potential for an annual bonus. This is a predominantly remote role, with flexibility to work from home alongside occasional travel to #Exeter, #Gloucester and #London.

If your skills and experience exceed the requirements outlined, we'd still love to hear from you, as we have an opportunity for a more senior position.

As one of the most experienced Business Analysts within the team, you'll help bridge the gap between business and technology, providing guidance to stakeholders and supporting teams through complex change. You'll work closely with offshore development teams, translating business needs into detailed requirements, user stories and tickets that enable successful delivery. You'll also support major initiatives including moving key processes currently managed through spreadsheets into strategic platforms, modernising reporting capabilities, and helping shape the migration of business-critical data into Snowflake. Your expertise will help teams understand not only what needs to change, but why it matters.

Across smart meters, heating and electric vehicles, EDF’s Customers business is helping to shape a smarter, energy-saving future. We’re proud to be a Sunday Times Best Places to Work Top 10 Very Big Organisation for two years running and a Highly Commended workplace for disabled employees.

Who You Are

We're looking for a Business Analyst who enjoys solving complex problems, building strong relationships and helping teams navigate change. You'll be comfortable working across both business and technical audiences, using your experience to challenge, influence and guide stakeholders. To be shortlisted, you need to offer…

  • Proven Business Analyst experience within complex technology and business change environments
  • Experience gathering, documenting and managing detailed requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience supporting Agile delivery teams and working closely with developers throughout the software delivery lifecycle
  • Knowledge of data, reporting and systems transformation projects, ideally involving large datasets and process improvement initiatives

If your skills and experience exceed the requirements outlined, we'd still love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Working with business stakeholders to understand challenges, identify opportunities and define solutions
  • Creating detailed requirements, user stories and development tickets for offshore delivery teams
  • Supporting backlog management, prioritisation and sprint delivery activities
  • Helping move business processes from spreadsheet-based ways of working into strategic technology platforms
  • Collaborating with data, forecasting, trading and operational teams to assess impacts and deliver successful change

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a starting salary of at least £45,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that’s unique to you. Here, Success is Personal – it’s your journey, powered by us.
