Join our seriously ambitious law firm as a Company Secretarial Assistant and become an integral part of our dynamic team. With your previous company secretary experience, confident communication skills, and keen attention to detail, you'll play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support to our team.

We're flexible as to where and how this role is fulfilled, and you may be interested in working part or full time, based from Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth or Southampton – with a blend of office and home working.

What you will do

As an expanding entrepreneurial law firm, you will support our Company Secretarial offering in the continued growth of the firm’s vibrant division. This position will assist in strengthening and developing the function, both internally and externally. Day to day you will be working with our Company Secretarial Supervisor, another Company Secretarial Assistant and the wider corporate team.

This will include:

  • Preparing and managing Companies House filings.
  • Updating and maintaining electronic registers using Diligent (formerly Blueprint) company secretarial software.
  • Direct client contact and building relationships.
  • Coordinating clear document management, including preparing and maintaining records.
  • Providing an excellent client service.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met and a high quality of work is maintained.

What we're looking for

  • Prior experience working within a company secretarial environment.
  • Prior experience with Diligent company secretarial software is desirable (but not essential).
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbally) and attention to detail.
  • Good administration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Commitment to working within a quality standard environment.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to become familiar with new systems quickly.
  • Ability to achieve tasks quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with other colleagues internally, both within the wider team and across all practice areas.

Our offer to you

In return for your efforts, you can expect considerable scope for personal, as well as professional, development. We encourage people to engage with our popular and well supported coaching and mentoring programmes, which connect you to people right across the firm and at every level. We create space for mental and physical wellbeing with our weekly Lifestyle Hour, along with 28 days’ annual leave (plus a day in your birthday month), private medical insurance (eligibility applies) and a sabbatical you can take every 5 years. You can also buy holiday, managing your benefits flexibly using our sophisticated portal to configure your total reward offer according to what you value most. As part of this, you can make ongoing or one-off donations to our charitable foundation and access our CSR programme where you can engage with community-based initiatives (as a team, or individually) twice a year, to give something back where you feel it matters.
