Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Finance System Business Analyst to join a critical programme of work within a major UK energy company. The successful candidate will act as the key liaison between the finance department and the technical delivery teams.
Your primary responsibility will be to analyse, define, and document business requirements for enhancing and integrating core finance systems. You will be instrumental in translating complex financial processes into functional specifications that drive technical development and ultimately improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Financial Accounting Principles: A strong understanding of financial accounting, including concepts like double-entry bookkeeping, debits and credits, and chart of accounts
- Financial Business Processes: Knowledge of finance business processes such as financial planning & analysis, treasury management, and accounts receivable
- Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to the financial industry, such as GDPR
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst on finance system projects.
- Strong, demonstrable understanding of core accounting and finance principles.
- Expertise in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation
- Experience in process modelling (e.g., BPMN, UML, or flowcharts).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with high attention to detail.
