We make health happen

We’re looking for a Data Architect to help shape how we use data across Bupa. Whether you come from a data science background, have experience in analytics, or are already working in data architecture, we’re interested in hearing from you. You may be early in your corporate career with solid technical foundations, or you may already be an established data architect looking for your next step.

Working alongside our Lead Data Architect, you’ll support the development and delivery of our data architecture and governance frameworks. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to map, model and understand our information landscape, ensuring our data is accessible, consistent, secure and delivers real value.

How you’ll help us make health happen

  • Help shape our data strategy, principles, standards and roadmaps, and support their communication across the business.

  • Work closely with the Data Platform team to ensure architecture is embedded effectively.

  • Identify key master data sources, map data flows, and spot opportunities for reuse, quality improvements and reduction of duplication.

  • Create and maintain core data architecture materials such as models, catalogues and documentation.

  • Partner with Solution Architects to ensure transformation programmes are supported by the right data approaches.

  • Lead the adoption of data modelling and cataloguing tools across the organisation.

  • Manage risk and ensure compliance, building clear policies and processes to strengthen data quality and integrity.

  • Improve visibility of enterprise data for reporting, analytics and data science by applying Bupa’s data architecture standards.

  • Work with business teams to promote and embed Bupa‑wide data management practices.

  • Communicate data governance expectations clearly and support accurate, compliant use of Bupa data.

  • Promote strong data protection practices in partnership with our Privacy and Security teams.

What you’ll bring

  • A strong foundation in data modelling (dimensional and entity‑relationship).

  • Experience in areas such as data quality, master data, reference data, metadata and cataloguing.

  • Hands‑on experience with Master Data Management and data architecture principles.

  • A “cloud‑first” mindset and understanding of modern data platforms.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience mentoring or supporting technical colleagues is a plus.

Benefits

Our benefits are designed to make health happen for our people. Viva is our global wellbeing programme and includes all aspects of our health – from mental and physical, to financial, social and environmental wellbeing. We support flexible working and have a range of family friendly benefits.
