Are you ready to make an impact in the finance industry? As a Data Engineer, you will report to the Business Application & Integrations Manager, and you will play a vital role in facilitating integration between various business applications and data sources to improve efficiency, streamline workflows and enhance overall performance.
A day in the life of a Data Engineer will include:
- Assisting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to understand data requirements and deliver data solutions that meet business needs;
- Developing processes to extract data from source systems, transform data into a usable format, and load data into target systems;
- Ensuring data consistency and data quality by implementing data validation checks, data cleansing techniques;
- Transforming data from various sources into usable formats;
- Collaborating with Datawarehouse for automating data sources;
- Conducting thorough testing and resolving any issues before live implementation;
- Providing ongoing support for the implemented solutions.
- Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.
Requirements
- A BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject;
- Proven experience in data engineering or a related role for at least 2 year, preferably in the banking and recoveries sector;
- Strong knowledge of SQL;
- Excellent knowledge of APIs both from implementation and infrastructure terms;
- Proficiency in ETL tools and mechanisms;
- Experience with Python for data manipulation and automation;
- English fluency and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
What is considered a plus
- Understanding of interaction between different systems;
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills;
- Attention to detail and high level of ownership;
- Knowledge of industry best practices in data governance will be considered as an asset.
