Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

You'll join Kaluza's growing global team, working alongside a talented mix of Product Managers, Engineers, and Delivery experts. You'll also be a vital member of our global User Experience (UX) Design team, with colleagues based in the UK, Portugal and Australia.

You'll be working on Kaluza's Energy Retail platform, a SaaS solution that empowers energy retailers globally to revolutionise their core operations and accelerate their decarbonisation efforts. This platform is being built with globalisation and regionalisation in mind and is the foundation for decarbonisation efforts by Kaluza’s customers.

What will I be doing?

You can perform a wide range of UX tasks, ranging across Product Design, User Research and Service Design, and apply a broad knowledge of user-led principles and methodologies to solve for different contexts and challenges. You will help provide UX design oversight and leadership within an aggressive and intricate client delivery programme.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and designing end-to-end user experiences tailored to the needs of our global clients and their customers, with a focus on the Billing & Payments product area.
  • Producing multiple proof-of-concepts and co-creating engaging, effective experiences for our retail users.
  • Elevating our Design System by actively using existing components and contributing new ideas to increase consistency and efficiency.
  • Applying a variety of UX design methods including journey mapping, design sprints, and co-creation workshops to help tackle complex challenges.
  • Proactively conducting and acting on User Research by producing actionable and highly visible insights to improve our products and services.
  • Presenting your findings to the wider UX team, the business and clients.
  • Using Information Architecture (IA) principles to organise and structure complex content.
  • Advocating for accessibility and inclusivity in all design and product decisions you are part of.
  • Proactively improving design processes and standards, continually looking for ways to increase efficiency and consistency, including using AI powered tools.

Is this the job for me?

You are the right person for us if you:

  • Are a hands-on designer with a track record of solving problems and delivering impactful design solutions.
  • Have strong Product Design skills, ideally using Figma to produce high quality UI & prototypes, as well as the ability to use and expand our design system.
  • Are highly collaborative, able to structure workshops and design sprints to drive alignment and innovation across your immediate teams.
  • Are able to proactively identify design opportunities and research needs within a product area and prioritise work for maximum impact.
  • Adapt to the evolving needs of a fast-moving global business.
  • Have experience with using both qualitative and quantitative data to inform and defend your design decisions.
  • Champion user-centered design and Kaluza's UX vision.
  • Have curiosity around the complexities of the energy sector, with a strong desire to learn new AI-enabled skills.
  • Have experience contributing to and working with an established Design System.

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of the nuances of the European energy market.
  • Previous experience of designing for B2B users or working in a SaaS or scale-up environment.
  • Familiarity with agile ways-of-working and using Jira and Confluence to track and document design work is preferred.
  • Financial understanding or experience in complex, regulated sectors (e.g. Fintech)

Interview Process:

Recruiter Screen: A 30-minute introductory call.
Hiring Manager: A 45-minute technical and cultural alignment discussion.
