Position Summary:


The Product Management Team for the Puppet brand at Perforce is searching for a Developer Relations Lead to join the team. As we enter a new, exciting phase we are navigating a shift in how our community operates. We are looking for an experienced Developer Relations Lead to help guide our community through these changes, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and fostering a supportive and engaging environment. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the practitioner and community engagement with Puppet and adjacent products at Perforce. 


This position will support our Puppet brand. More than 40,000 organizations trust Puppet to innovate through IT infrastructure automation. Puppet helps customers strengthen their security posture, compliance standards, and business resiliency beyond the data center to the cloud. 

Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage with community across multiple platforms and provide guidance.  
  • Lead communication and engagement with practitioners to ensure they are informed, supported, and address concerns to create stability and trust  
  • Serve as the voice and advocate of the community for inside the organization, ensuring the needs of the community are communicated effectively and addressed  
  • Monitor community channels to ensure all discussions on respectful, on topic, and follow community guidelines, support creation of guidelines and policies 
  • Work closely with sales engineering, support, and services teams who actively engage with technical practitioners of our products to gain insights on content strategies 
  • Create content (blogs, webinar, podcasts, etc) that is for practitioners in cloud and infrastructure operations with the use of Puppet and related technologies in working with marketing 
  • Organize and participate in events (virtual or in-person) to engage with community members and customers, own a calendar and budget in conjunction with marketing 
  • Provide  support to additional products/brands as needed, adjacent to Puppet in the platform operations space 

Requirements:

  • Technical education (Computer Science or related fields)  
  • Deep comfort with technical systems and tooling (Puppet, Public Cloud) 
  • Strong ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams 
  • 5+ years of community management or similar experience in practitioner relations 
  • Examples of previously  published written, video, and/or event speaker content 
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Reddit, Slack, GitHub)  
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with a strong command and confidence when presenting technical information at conference, webinars, etc. Strong proficiency in English.  
  • Experience with content creation, event coordination, and engagement strategies
