Role Description: 

We have an exciting opportunity to lead our core platform DevOps team through high quality, low touch, scalable solutions across a mix of technologies and deployment stacks globally.

We want to hear from candidates who can relate to many of the following: 

  • In-depth experience in supporting and driving a DevOps culture and building out capability.

  • Deep working experience with practices including CI/CD, Microservices, Infrastructure as Code, Security as Code, Monitoring/Logging, Containerisation, Container Orchestration (e.g.K8S, ECS)

  • Identify, develop, train, and execute on the DevOps lifecycle, tech stack and best practices 

  • Define and develop scalable Microservice architectures and solutions 

  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders in Product, TechOps, Security, Development Engineering, and Compliance

  • Lead, mentor, develop and promote DevOps team members around the globe 

  • Define KPIs that track the efficiencies of DevOps investment 

  • Own the DevOps roadmap, always refining it for the short, medium, and long term

  • Lead efforts with Infrastructure as Code and fully automated deployment environments and pipelines, using use of tooling such as Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, Docker

  • Working with cross-functional teams within a software practice, ensuring that the work that is fed into, and processed through the Development Engineering Scrum teams, is of the right technical quality. 

  • Operational experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Splunk, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus and ELK 

Qualifications

  • Previous team management experience and strong people/technical leadership skills. 

  • Strong initiative, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. 

  • Dynamic, self-motivated with a desire to produce the best solution possible. 

  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced, ever-evolving technology environment. 

  • A passion for technology, automation, and continuous improvement and innovation. 

  • A learning mindset, and the curiosity to dive under the covers. 

  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor, coach, and build strong global teams. 

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills. 

  • Be proactive in identifying gaps, prioritizing, and making proposals for continuous improvement. 

  • 5 years experience in DevOps/DevSecOps/SRE with 3+ years leading DevOps strategy and delivery, and managing global teams

  • 5+ years’ experience in AWS/GCP/Azure configuration management tools such as Ansible / Chef / Puppet

  • 6+ years’ experience in software development using Python, Java, C++ and/or 6+ years’ experience in Unix/Linux and shell scripting 

  • 3+ years’ experience with scripting tools to create customized DevOps tools 

  • Automation of Development / Test environment creation process for Linux-based platforms. Bonus points for experience with Mac infrastructure

  • Experience with monitoring and log analysis tools such as Splunk, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus and ELK 

  • Hands on experience with relational and non-relational databases and provisioning persistence layers, plus CDN management

  • Solid familiarity with Data infrastructure principles and technologies, including the implementation of Kafka and MSK

  • Familiarity with good software design and application architectural practices. 

  • Ability to define and measure non-functional requirements, such as reliability, availability, security, and performance

  • Have a sense of humour!
