Global Acceptance & Merchant Solutions brings together Mastercard's Acceptance and Gateway capabilities to shape the future of digital commerce. The portfolio includes payment and enablement solutions such as Cloud Commerce, Tap on Phone, QR, and Mastercard Gateway, delivered through award-winning technology and a global network of 200+ acquirers serving more than 500,000 merchants worldwide.
At the center of this strategy is Merchant Cloud, Mastercard's unified, modular commerce platform that provides acquirers, channel partners, and merchants a single access point to payments, data insights, security services, and other value-added capabilities designed to simplify and support global commerce growth.
The Director, Merchant Cloud Data + Agentic Commerce Strategy will play a key role in shaping the next phase of Merchant Cloud by defining product solution strategies and ensuring they translate into delivered, market-ready offerings across the platform. Reporting to the Vice President, Merchant Cloud Product Management, this role will help define how data and analytics, along with AI-driven and agent-enabled commerce capabilities, become cohesive commercial propositions that scale globally across acquirers, channel partners, and merchants.
A core focus of the role is leading the data and insights proposition strategy for Merchant Cloud customers, leveraging Mastercard's global data assets to define high-value analytics, benchmarking, and performance solutions. In parallel, the role will define the Agentic Commerce proposition and playbook service models, and ecosystem partnerships required to enable trusted, interoperable agent-enabled commerce experiences.
This role works cross-functionally across Payment Gateway, Core Acceptance, Security Solutions, Data & Services, and Global Partnerships to drive alignment between solution strategy, product delivery, and future commercial plans, supporting continued growth and expansion of the Merchant Cloud portfolio.
Role• Shape advanced product proposition strategy for Merchant Cloud, translating data, analytics, and agent-enabled commerce capabilities into cohesive, scalable commercial propositions.• Lead development of data and insights propositions, leveraging Mastercard's global data assets to define high-value analytics and performance solutions for acquirers, channel partners, and merchants.• Define the Agentic Commerce proposition, service models, and ecosystem strategy, including what capabilities should be enabled and where partnerships accelerate scale.• Identify and prioritize merchant, acquirer, and channel partner use cases that inform product investment and portfolio direction.• Partner with product management and platform teams to influence roadmap priorities and capability design, and drive alignment to ensure solution propositions are delivered as intended.• Define solution and product proposition frameworks that inform commercial packaging and go-to-market planning by regional and commercialization teams.• Support executive strategy, business cases, and portfolio initiatives tied to Merchant Cloud evolution and integration.
All About You• Deep experience in leading and scaling data-driven product portfolios, including analytics, insights, and data-enabled or AI-adjacent products, ideally within fintech, payments, or platform-based businesses.• Solid experience in payment processing, with deep understanding of acquiring, gateways, authorization, and the broader global payments and acceptance ecosystem; experience at an acquirer, payment gateway, or payment service provider is strongly preferred.• Proven experience in product strategy and proposition development, including expanding into new solution areas and translating complex data, AI, and platform capabilities into clear, scalable, customer-facing solutions with compelling value propositions.• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear market narratives, and to communicate effectively with senior executives, partners, and customers.• Track record of influencing product investment decisions, roadmap priorities, and delivery outcomes in matrixed, global organizations, working closely across product management, engineering, data, and commercial teams.• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments and driving progress through influence.• Bonus: Experience with Agentic Commerce, AI-driven workflows, or agent-enabled transaction models, including exposure to emerging commerce interaction patterns and ecosystems.
