SummaryThe Engineering Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager. Their role is to ensure maximum uptime and efficient use of the production plant, ensuring that compliance with all Mechanical/Electrical and Environmental Statutory requirements.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesDevelop a pre-planned/preventative maintenance regime to reduce unplanned down and increase efficiency.
Improve Engineering activities whilst reducing costs for repairs/maintenance
To assist engineers in undertaking routine maintenance tasks.
Ensure the boiler is fully maintained. Arranging statutory checks with Insurance company and boiler service providers.
Comply with the latest Electricity at Work Regulations.
Arrange HV&LV maintenance with service provider.
Plan annual service of Power Factor correction equipment.
Arrange fixed appliance and portable appliance testing is carried out annually.
Responsible for all pressure systems including steam, condensate, air.
Arrange statutory checks on Compressor & Oil separator, Air receivers and desiccant driers.
Arrange services for pellet presses, conditioners, palletiser and all other equipment that is externally maintained or under a service contract.
Ensure all weighing and test equipment is calibrated as defined in the calibration register.
Monitor isolation procedures, ensuring it’s robust and being followed.
Monitor the permit to work system procedure, ensuring its robust and being followed
Ensure there’s a comprehensive spares system, producing a used and required spares list.
Record accurate maintenance reports for Asset Master
Work closely with the Production Manager and shift technicians to maintain good housekeeping. Repairing leaks and ensuring work areas are left clean.
Ensure that tools & lifting equipment are used and maintained correctly as required by LOLER
Work closely with the Production Manager to help reach CCL targets as set out by the company.
Organise daily activities for all shift technicians and maintenance support staff.
CDM qualified and take control of all contractors on site, making sure all safety/CDM procedures are followed.
Assist and deputise for the Production Manager as required.
Perform other duties as required and be expected to have a hands on attitude, working on daily projects and repairs.
Compliance with BS EN ISO 14001 and Environmental Management and BS EN ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems
Ensure all KPIs , ( OEE, Quality & Safety ) are maintained and exceeded
Work closely with the Production Manager to achieve UFAS compliance
