Job Description

As we continue to grow and scale, we’re on the hunt for an experienced Finance professional to join our Finance Risk and Controls team. Your work will be instrumental in strengthening our internal control environment, monitoring and reporting, and helping the business achieve its mission.

You’ll do this through working closely with our finance teams to implement process mapping for all key controls; implementing best practice in this field to ensure we can identify which processes are most manually intensive or operationally risky, to help identify which processes should be prioritised for automation.

This role provides an excellent platform for someone looking to step into the finance function of a Fintech and deep dive into the inner workings of a Company that has taken the financial services industry by storm.

Your Mission:

  • Design and implement a best-practice approach to process mapping for our key controls. This inventory of process maps will identify key person dependencies, manually intensive processes, and operationally risky outputs (e.g. manual journals).

  • Through this exercise, you will help to identify key risks, and advise teams on implementing enhanced controls to strengthen the control environment. You’ll also provide an output to implementation teams, discussing which processes should be prioritised for automation to minimise or mitigate risk.

  • You’ll then support implementing an assurance testing program to independently assess key controls for both design and operating effectiveness; with the results being reported to the finance leadership team.

  • Effectively support and challenge the product engineering, operations and group finance teams on their journey to evolve and mature our risk and control environment.

  • Partner with both finance and non-finance teams as needed to address risks and controls related to financial reporting. You will need to build strong effective relationships across the organisation to help us meet our goals.

  • Work closely with finance teams during planning sessions to help guide and deliver on control design improvements. We love automation and our engineers will need your help to design the most efficient controls.

  • Keep on track of Finance control remediation findings and also monitor the progress for internal and external audit actions to ensure they are completed on time and actions are adequate to mitigate the inherent risks identified.

Qualifications

  • Theory - You have a professional finance qualification such as the ACA or equivalent (CPA / ACCA) with at least 5 years post qualification experience. IT qualifications such as CISA / CRISC / CISSP is a plus. You are keen to learn more about Fintechs and the inner workings of an organisation dealing with high volume transactions.

  • Practice - You have demonstrable experience managing projects, testing internal controls, responding to external and internal audit queries / findings or have experience in auditing companies, preferably within Financial services..

  • Love getting things done - You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and take responsibility - you will relish the opportunity to implement and own an inventory of process maps covering our key controls..

  • Commercial acumen - You understand the value of taking a balanced approach to risk and controls to support the growth of the business.

  • Collaborative - You work well in a multinational team environment, and know how to have an impact through others. No Drama Good Karma!

  • Development - You are keen to learn and develop your knowledge of how a FinTech and fast growing scale-up operates.
