Team Overview

The US Markets Accounting and Finance team partners closely with the US Markets business to deliver financial insight into performance, inform strategic decisions, and support growth initiatives. The team supports core FP&A activities across planning, forecasting, reporting, and executive analysis, providing visibility into business drivers and outcomes. This team reports into US Markets Finance leadership and regularly collaborates with senior business and finance stakeholders. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview and Core Responsibilities

The Financial Analyst II role exists to support core FP&A processes and deliver accurate, actionable financial insights that enable effective decision‑making across the US Markets business. This role contributes directly to forecasting accuracy, business transparency, and operational efficiency through recurring analysis, reporting, and stakeholder partnership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting core FP&A activities, including monthly business reviews, revenue and expense forecasting, quarterly close processes, and annual and long‑range planning cycles
  • Preparing clear, accurate financial reports and analyses to support business partners and leadership in evaluating performance and risks
  • Performing detailed financial analysis, including variance, trend, and volume/price/mix analysis to identify performance drivers and emerging trends
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional partners to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and ensure alignment across forecasts and plans
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of financial models aligned with key business drivers and assumptions
  • Creating executive‑ready presentations and reporting materials that summarize results and highlight key insights
  • Supporting process improvement and optimization initiatives, leveraging tools, automation, and improved reporting practices to increase efficiency
  • Working with data from multiple financial systems to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy of financial information

Required Knowledge and Experiences

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (2–4 years): Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting to enable informed decision making
  • Business Partnership: Experience partnering with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate financial data into actionable insights for non‑Finance audiences
  • GAAP & Financial Acumen: Working knowledge of GAAP and financial statements to ensure accurate analysis and reporting
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) to support foundational financial and analytical skills
Required Technical Skills
  • Microsoft Excel: Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and structured reporting
  • Financial Systems & Data Tools: Experience working with data from multiple financial systems to analyze performance and support forecasting and reporting
  • Presentation Development: Ability to create clear, concise materials for leadership consumption using PowerPoint or equivalent tools

Pay Scale Information:

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $62,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion’s annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
