How you will make an impact
This role combines UK regional HR operational ownership with global strategic HR business partnering for the Global Specialty and Multinational businesses. The role supports senior leaders locally and globally, enabling business growth through pragmatic, commercially focused people solutions in a complex, matrixed environment.
UK Regional HR Operations Business Partner
Act as the primary UK HR Business Partner for Global Specialty and Multinational, providing end‑to‑end operational HR support to the UK teams:
- Ownership of UK HR tactical and operational activities, including:
- Employee relations (ER)
- Recruitment and resourcing
- Contracts, policy application, and compliance
- Ongoing manager advisory support and ad‑hoc people queries
- Partnering closely with HR Services to deliver accurate and timely employee lifecycle actions (joiners, movers, leavers, contractual changes)
- Ensuring consistent application of HR policies, governance, and controls
- Acting as a trusted advisor to UK leaders and managers on day‑to‑day people matters, balancing risk, employee experience, and business needs
Global HR Business Partner
Operate as a Global HR Business Partner, working in close partnership with the Senior HR Business Partner for Global Specialty and Multinational, to shape and deliver a strategic people agenda aligned to global business objectives and growth priorities. The role focuses on translating global strategy into pragmatic, executable people solutions within a complex, matrixed environment.
- Partnering in conjunction with the Senior HR Business Partner to support six of AIG’s Top 100 Executives, acting as a trusted coach, advisor, and thought partner.
- Coaching senior leaders, with support of Snr HRBP, to build organisational capability, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and drive high‑performance cultures
- Influencing and constructively challenging leadership thinking, using insight, data, and strong commercial judgement while remaining outcome‑focused and pragmatic
- Supporting the globalisation and localisation of the strategic people plan, ensuring alignment with business strategy and relevance across regions and markets
- Partnering with Global Product Leads and their leadership teams on:
- Global initiatives and transformation programmes
- Workforce, talent, and organisational implications of business cases
- Growth strategies to enable execution of the Global Specialty and Multinational business strategy
- Leading and coordinating global programmes and projects, ensuring clear governance, stakeholder alignment, and disciplined delivery with clear alignment with the CoEs.
- Owning and delivering cyclical HR processes (e.g. performance, talent, succession) in a highly matrixed and complex environment, ensuring they are value‑adding and commercially relevant
- Working closely with HR Centres of Excellence (CoEs) to:
- Design and implement solutions that are fit‑for‑purpose, scalable, and pragmatic to business needs
- Balance global HR frameworks with local business requirements to create win/win outcomes
- Navigate healthy tension between HR governance and business priorities to deliver practical, win‑win outcomes
- Acting as a connector across global, regional, and local stakeholders to ensure alignment, consistency, and effective execution of the people agenda
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of global and regional stakeholders, effectively managing expectations, priorities, and competing demands in a complex, matrixed environment.
What you’ll need to succeed
- HR Business Partnering and broad cross-functional HR experience.
- Demonstrated human resources business partnership and organizational design experience, insurance experience a plus.
- Strong business acumen with a successful track record that shows business impact through human capital initiatives.
- Strong understanding of using data/metrics to guide leaders/make decisions
- Exposure to ER and case management / good level of employment law knowledge
- Ability to balance competing priorities and drive strategic initiatives that cross organizational boundaries.
- Excellent project management, organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills are critical for success.
- Business acumen and an understanding of the intricacies of the business and the implications of different business models.
