The Graduate Software Developer role involves writing code, participating in structured training, collaborating on projects, and solving complex problems with mentorship from experienced engineers.

At Scott Logic, we have a reputation for world-class software engineering. We’re a consultancy trusted to solve complex, business-critical problems for some of the world’s leading organisations. Our teams are small, collaborative, and hands-on, and our graduates contribute real value early - supported by experienced engineers who care deeply about quality.

Our graduate programme has been a big part of our success over the last 20 years, so we take it seriously. There’s structured training, team projects and lots of support to help you reach your potential. There’s also plenty of chance to get involved in the wider Scott Logic community.

You’ll join us at a time when advances in AI and modern cloud platforms are reshaping how software is built – we'll give you the opportunity to learn not just today's practices for creating high-quality software, but where the industry is heading next.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for adaptable problem solvers with strong people skills and a passion for technology - people who are naturally curious and motivated to learn, experiment, and build their experience along the way.

    You’ll likely bring:

    • A degree or equivalent experience (often in a STEM subject, but not essential).

    • Some experience writing code - through study, work experience, or personal projects.

    • Beyond that, we care more about your potential than perfectly refined experience. We’re more interested in how you approach problems and work with others:

      • You communicate clearly and are comfortable working as part of a team.

      • You can break down problems and think through possible solutions.

      • You show initiative - asking questions, trying things out, and taking ownership as you learn.

What you’ll get in return

    What you’ll get in return

We’ll offer you the right environment to give your career the very best start, – allowing you to grow in confidence, skills and impact as you progress through our Graduate Programme and onto client work.

    In your first months, you’ll:

    • Take part in structured hands-on training covering core engineering skills and ways of working.

    • Build working software as part of a team, putting what you’ve learnt into practice in the real world.

    • Be mentored by talented, experienced colleagues in a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of knowledge and expertise.

    • Get the chance to earn industry-standard certifications.

As you progress to client work, you’ll continue to be supported as you build your confidence and take on bigger challenges over time. You’ll have real impact as you explore the craft - whether it's working on richly interactive web applications and mobile apps, agentic AI solutions, high-performance server applications, automated cloud infrastructure or modern data platforms.

    You will receive:

    • 25 days’ annual leave, rising to 30 days with each year of service.

    • Generous family leave policies.

    • Access to an employer pension scheme and group life assurance.

    • A range of optional benefits such as discounted gym membership and a cycle-to-work scheme.
