Job Role: Information Management Architect 

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: London, Hybrid
Role Purpose

At Travelex, data is fundamental to our business operations, from defining and selling foreign currency exchange products to building meaningful customer relationships. As we modernize our data technology and develop new data products, robust data governance and management are critical to our success. 

 

As an Information Management Architect, you will drive the maturity of our enterprise data governance and management framework, acting as a crucial bridge between technology, business, and compliance teams. This high-profile role requires both technical expertise and strategic leadership to ensure our data practices meet business needs while adhering to regulatory requirements. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead the design and implementation of our enterprise data catalog, governance, an discovery capabilities, working closely with technical and business stakeholders 

  • Develop and execute the roadmap for company-wide data catalog adoption, collaborating with Data Engineering, Compliance & Risk, Data Protection, Product, Cyber Security, and the IT Leadership team 

  • Partner with the Data Protection team to ensure data governance aligns with global compliance and data security requirements and regulations 

  • Facilitate effective communication between engineering teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and guide the architectural design of data models across the organization 

  • Create and implement data quality monitoring tools and practices across the organization, providing actionable recommendations to data owners 

 

Requirements 

  • Experience implementing data practices within complex, federated data landscapes spanning multiple domains and geographies 

  • Strong understanding of data protection requirements and compliance regulations in a global context 

  • Deep knowledge of data engineering and cloud platforms, and experience in ETL/ELT processes, data ingestion, and cloud-based database management 

  • Understanding of information security principles and their application to data management 

  • Experience in leading and implementing data quality monitoring practices 

  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across technical and business functions 

  • Financial services sector experience beneficial but not required
