Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer

Site Location: Templecombe

Primary Purpose of the Role:

  • Responsible for supporting, configuring and building Systems IT infrastructures, installation on a variety of projects across the business.

Responsibility:

Implementation, maintenance, optimisation and support of customer’s systems supplied and supported by Thales.

Required hardware and software core elements:

  • Microsoft and RHEL Servers - physical and virtual
  • Microsoft Windows 10/11 client
  • Hypervisor technology
  • Scripting – Powershell, Configuration as Code – Ansible – DSC
  • Server and client operating systems configuration
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Group Policies
  • SCCM, MECM and WSUS
  • Windows and A/V generic updates
  • Providing 3rd level support and mentoring 2nd/1st line support teams
  • Alignment with third-party vendors and their applicable software and hardware

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years relevant IT hands-on experience
  • Networking hands on experience and desire to upskill
  • Experience of and a strong understanding of IT security
  • Experience of multi-site organisation
  • Ideally currently SC Cleared

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
