About Team:

The CrowdStrike Malware Research Center is the core of Falcon’s malware detection and response capabilities. The team has a focus on understanding the threat landscape and sets the target for what Falcon should be identifying and preventing. Additionally, the MRC is responsible for understanding our capabilities, and mapping how well our machine learning and behavioral protection capabilities are doing against those threats. Where there is a gap, the MRC takes action to improve our detection stance, and improve our overall protection story. There are many parts of CrowdStrike working towards protecting customer environments, and the MRC works across all of them to ensure we are on target and providing the best protection for our current threat landscape.

About the Role:

As an Infrastructure Engineer on the MRC team, you will build tools, robust processes that enable the engineering team to rapidly develop, deploy and manage our software products across all environments. These systems also support other teams & systems within the Research & Development and Data Science organizations. You will also build and maintain lab environments for the purposes of furthering adversarial research, kill chain execution and certification testing. This role focuses on independent execution, problem solving and demonstration of passion towards engineering excellence.

What You'll Need:

A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise in following skills:

  • Infrastructure as Code: Chef, Terraform, Ansible

  • Scripting: Python, Bash, Powershell

  • Monitoring & Alerts: InfluxDB, Graphite or Prometheus, Grafana.

  • Experience operating within cloud environments AWS/Azure/GCP.

  • Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, preferably with Spinnaker

  • Good coding standards, source control, documentation of design, issue tracking, and producing results which are supportable

  • The ability to scale backend systems – sharding, partitioning, scaling horizontally are second nature to you.

  • Excellent problem solving abilities in a distributed computing environment.

  • Experience in DevOps and related tools and technologies.

  • Experience in containerizing applications/services

  • Experience in building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines using jenkins

Bonus Points:

  • Rock solid communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field, such as CS, CIS or Engineering

  • Experience building backend services using python or go.

  • Experience building and maintaining lab environments.
