LOCATION(S): Bristol

HOURS: Full-time

START DATE: 3rd September 2025

About this opportunity
Imagine what’s next. Imagine enabling better outcomes for our Group, our colleagues and our customers, and working to Help Britain Prosper. Make it real. Apply now for our Internal Audit apprenticeship programme.

Help us empower our people and Help Britain Prosper.

At Lloyds Banking Group, we are passionate about delivering high-quality apprenticeship experiences to support everyone to realise their full potential.

This is an opportunity to learn skills, gain a qualification and earn a salary, all while playing an important role in shaping finance as force for good.

Audit acts as an independent function, reporting directly to the Group Audit Committee and the Board. Our purpose is to help LBG to achieve its goals through providing valuable insight and completing assurance activity to assess how well risks are being identified and reduced, providing opinions, challenge and informal advice.

The apprenticeship scheme will give you significant insight into our entire business. Our central role offers a unique perspective on how Lloyds Banking Group functions. You could find yourself supporting one of our specialist teams, anywhere from People to Data or Finance to Cyber Security.

What you’ll learn

You’ll learn to support delivery of high-quality audits using an investigative approach, analysing data to produce quality audits, helping to recommend steps to ensure the highest risks are effectively managed and learning about the components that make a successful business.

You’ll embrace a growth mindset of learning every day, taking personal responsibility for the successful completion of studies.

You will complete a Level 4 Apprenticeship, which will take up to 2 years, then progress onto a Degree Level Apprenticeship Programme to become a qualified Auditor.

Why Lloyds Banking Group

We’re the UK’s biggest digital bank and you’ll be supporting over 22 million digitally active customers. We’re investing over £3bn in our people, technology, and data, to drive positive change, and our focus is on green finance and sustainable products to deliver a better future for everyone.

What you’ll need

  • GCSE (or equivalent) at grade 4-9 in both Maths and English (Language and / or Literature)
  • PLUS - 3 A levels (or equivalent) at grade A*-C.

These grades can be predicted, but any offer made to you will be conditional upon successful achievement of these qualifications.

  • You’ll need to be at least 18 years old on 1st September 2025.

Whilst we welcome candidates who have a degree, this cannot be in a field related to the apprenticeship due to a crossover in learning. We’ll request a copy of your degree module transcript to review if your degree may contain prior learning.

About working for us

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture. We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative. And it’s why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

Important information

Due to Home Office requirements regarding Skilled Workers, we’re unable to accept applications for visa sponsorship for our apprenticeship roles as the proposed salary for the role does not meet the minimum threshold – if this situation applies to you, please consider looking for other vacancies which may be more suitable.

Salary

You will join us on a fixed apprenticeship salary where you’ll be eligible for annual pay reviews. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, your salary will be increased in line with the grade and pay range for your role.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 22 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies.

If you’re excited by the thought of becoming part of our team, get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.

Closing date

The closing date to apply for this opportunity is Sunday, 9th March 2025.

Our roles generate a lot of interest and occasionally we need close for applications earlier than originally advertised. If you think working with us could be right for you, please apply now and see where an apprenticeship with us can take you!

If you have any queries regarding the recruitment process, please email [email protected]

A member of our team will be happy to help and will reply within 3 working days (Monday – Friday).
