Position Summary

Telestream is looking for an IT Analyst to join our UK-based IT team. This role sits between traditional help desk support and systems administration — ideal for someone who has outgrown tier-1 support and is building toward a systems administration career but isn't yet ready for a full Systems Administrator title. You'll provide end-user support, manage day-to-day IT operations, and get exposure to broader systems administration work as you grow.

This is a hands-on, generalist IT role. You'll work closely with our Solutions Architect and IT Director, supporting employees across the UK and collaborating with IT colleagues in other regions.

What You'll Do

  • Provide end-user support for hardware, software, and account issues via our ticketing system
  • Administer and support Active Directory and Microsoft 365 (user accounts, permissions, mailboxes, licensing)
  • Support and troubleshoot cloud collaboration tools (OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Manage and resolve tickets in our ITSM platform, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution
  • Perform basic scripting/automation tasks (PowerShell, Python) to streamline repetitive IT tasks
  • Support identity and access management processes, including Okta administration
  • Maintain basic security hygiene practices (access reviews, patching support, endpoint basics)
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes, including account provisioning and equipment setup
  • Escalate and collaborate with senior IT staff on more complex systems administration issues
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting related to IT assets, tickets, and system changes

Work Authorization - Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United Kingdom. This role is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization or visa sponsorship of any kind, now or in the future.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in a help desk, IT support, or junior systems administration role
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Familiarity with ticketing/ITSM tools (e.g., Zendesk, Jira Service Management, ServiceNow)
  • Basic scripting ability (PowerShell and/or Python) for task automation
  • Comfort working with cloud productivity tools (OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Exposure to identity management platforms (Okta or similar) preferred
  • Foundational understanding of IT security best practices
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset
  • Comfortable working independently while knowing when to escalate
  • Based in or near the Bristol area, or willing to work from/travel occasionally to our UK office

Bonus Points For

  • Prior exposure to systems administration tasks (servers, backups, infrastructure)
  • Experience supporting a distributed/global team across time zones
