Provide IT support to all functions and services at the Reading Science Centre and Wokingham.
Specifically this role contributes towards this by:

• Supporting the business in the use of existing scientific and business applications. These include but are not limited to Labware LIMS, OpenLAB, Q-Pulse, IMS, AppletSpace, Dynamics, MyRSSL, Chromeleon and Data Manager.
• Assisting with the implementation of solutions that meet the business needs of internal clients and stakeholders, providing appropriate training and support to colleagues/users.

At the Reading Science Centre and Wokingham this role is responsible for supporting approximately 400 user accounts and 200 instrument accounts. The role will also provide essential system and infrastructure support and ensure Quality standards are adhered to.
How you will contribute
You will:

• Provide support to team members in the administration and advice for scientific and bespoke business applications at all levels of the RSSL business using established procedures for fault reporting and change management. Systems supported include; Labware LIMS, AppletSpace, Dynamics, MyRSSL, OpenLAB, IMS, Q-Pulse, Network Support & Data Management.
• Support team members in liaising with technical partners, suppliers and functions, including HPe, BT, Ricoh, Agilent, LabWare, Thermo Fisher and internal teams, such as Network, Active Directory, Collaboration and InfoSys teams to effectively and efficiently implement fixes and changes.
• Apply troubleshooting skills to incidents and requests, which could be high-level or lacking in detail. Act on these business needs, identifying solutions to quickly resolve issues related to scientific or local business applications.
• Work as part of a team to support with the implementation of changes to systems & networks, as well as preparing and staging computers for the implementation of new software with minimal disruption to operations.
• Ensure the delivery of IT systems meets operational quality standards and complies with appropriate regulatory and legislative requirements.
