What does this role involve?

As the Lead Networking Engineer at Dexory, you will be pivotal in ensuring the robustness and reliability of connectivity to all our systems. Dexory robots are installed on customer sites across the world with different connectivity requirements leveraging customer WiFi with fallback to 4G/5G, presenting unique challenges to maintain a reliable and robust connection between our cloud infrastructure and the robots.
This role involves working with the SRE team to maintain a reliable and well-monitored cloud networking architecture to ensure we maintain connection to the robots.
You will collaborate with customer support and integration teams to address site-specific connectivity challenges, and meet customer IT teams to develop tailored connectivity plans. Leveraging your expertise in building and maintaining systems for long-term network reliability and security across our platform.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the SRE team to provide a well-monitored and maintained infrastructure to maintain connectivity to our robots.
  • Collaborating with the customer support and integrations team to ensure connectivity to our cloud is available on customer sites.
  • Meeting with customer IT teams to develop plans for site connectivity.
  • Planning future network architectures for a cloud based global infrastructure and building documentation and specifications for reliable network connectivity.
  • Developing systems to ensure a long-term reliable and robust network infrastructure.
  • Investigating and resolving network and connectivity issues on individual robots and developing solutions to improve connectivity across the fleet.


You should have:

  • Extensive experience in cloud based networking, with a focus on globally-distributed platforms.
  • Extensive experience with IoT connectivity, Linux-based networking, Wireguard and OpenWRT would be a benefit in this role.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of physical networks.
  • Strong knowledge of network monitoring and maintenance practices.
  • Proven experience in working with customer IT teams to develop connectivity plans.
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining documentation and specifications for network connectivity.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving network issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of security and auditability requirements for network infrastructure.
