Executes software development projects with high quality design and architecture with a focus on performance, scalability, and stability. This team is primarily responsible for the design and development of the Publisher Service, FactSet’s premier cloud-based reporting platform. This service drives the reporting and batching functionality behind Portfolio Publisher, Portfolio Guide, and Portfolio Reporting Batcher, and pushes the bounds of what is possible for our clients to design, consume, and interact with their custom-designed reports. The team is involved in cutting-edge new services on the cloud including new services which are used across Analytics products. We are also focused on expanding into the “Digital Strategy” market with portals, components, and interactive data, and these services are critical to that functionality. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  •   Contribute new features, fixes, and refactors to the services owned by the team. 

  • Perform code reviews and coach engineers with respect to best practices. 

  • Think and communicate critically about architecture, design, and best practices. 

  • Collaborate with other engineers and Product Developers in a Scrum Agile environment using Jira and Confluence 

  •   Estimate task sizes and regularly communicate progress in daily standups and biweekly Scrum meetings. 

  • Coordinate with other teams across offices and departments. 

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience required.

 

Critical Skills:

  • Extensive backend development experience required. Full stack experience highly preferred. 

  •   Experience with one of .NET and/or Typescript required.

  •    Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies. 

  •   AWS Cloud development experience preferred. 

  •   Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills 

  •   Experience building and deploying production level services.

 

 

Desired Attributes: 

  • Experience with Agile environments using Jira and Confluence (or similar tools) 

  • Motivated self-starter with creative thinking and a strong desire to learn. 

  • Attention to detail along with the ability to see the big picture. 

  • Mentor junior team members.

  •   Self-disciplined and strong work ethic 

 

Education:

  •       Bachelor’s degree required.
