We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Islamic Finance team in Bristol on a permanent basis as a Legal Support Assistant. 

The team provides plays an active role in developing the market for Islamic finance, working with financial institutions to deliver and implement Islamic retail products and with investors on innovative investment structures. Over the years, our team have helped hundreds of Islamic financial institutions and investors do business in the UK.

In this role you would play a key role supporting Lawyers across both our Islamic Finance team with quality administrative and support services to enable the efficient delivery of the team operational strategy. This is an exciting and rapidly growing area of our firm, and you can expect lots of opportunity to develop your skill set and to be involved in some interesting and challenging work. This is a great opportunity for someone with excellent administration skills who is looking to progress their career.

What you'll do:

  • Diary management: organise travel, meetings and ensure events are fully supported within the Group.
  • Manage and take calls on behalf of Lawyers.
  • Assist Lawyers with managing monthly billing procedures, cash collection, expenses and credit control processes.
  • Deal with file opening and accompanying maintenance procedures: production of terms of business letters, confirmation of instruction letters, ID checks etc.
  • Deal with all file management tasks to ensure full compliance with Foot Anstey practices and procedures to include: Lexcel, Code of Conduct, and anti-Money Laundering.
  • Assist with administrative tasks relating to business development including client research, building marketing lists, co-ordinating external invitations to business development activities, preparing resources to take to client meetings and tracking team business development activity.

What we're looking for

  • An ability to support Lawyers and the wider team through proactive interaction and understanding of their support needs
  • An ability to interact with clients, building positive relationships.
  • Confident prioritisation skills and attention to detail to complete assigned tasks as required.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent IT skills across the MS suite of programmes along with a willingness to learn new IT / Tech packages.
