JOB TITLE: Lending & Working Capital Manager – BCB Chief Controls Office

SALARY: £65,000 - £79,000

LOCATIONS: Glasgow / Birmingham / Bristol / Edinburgh / Manchester / Leeds

HOURS: Full-Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About This Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our E2E Lending & Working Capital (L&WC) team within the Business and Commercial Banking (BCB) Chief Controls Office. BCB serves the financial needs of small and medium sized businesses that support our ability to help Britain prosper. Through forward-thinking initiatives and investments, our strategy will help us broaden our offering to new and existing clients, becoming the best bank for business.
 

We’re looking for a manager to provide insightful, high-quality analysis and evaluation of the control environment in alignment with the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Subject matter expert to drive the CCO efforts within L&WC.

  • Works with risk and control owner teams to help deliver against aligned customer, business and strategic outcomes.

  • Work with control specialist leadership to support the design, optimisation and process mapping of the E2E control environment.

  • Using Data and Analytics to continually improve risk and control reporting

  • Organise and prepare documentation, while also gathering and summarising data and information, to produce and maintain standardised risk and control process maps.

  • Assist in the management of actions resulting from operational risk events and breaches.

  • Proactively identify issues and then suggest and implement improvements to the control environment

What You’ll Need

  • Knowledge and experience of managing non-financial/financial risk

  • Knowledge of BCB Lending Products

  • A good technical understanding of business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement in the control environment

  • A recent background in a risk and control role or previous experience as a Relationship Manager or within an operational business

  • Proficient in creating and analysing Reporting Management Information using Power BI

  • Experience of data-led control management and the practical implementation

  • A confident presenter to senior colleagues and key stakeholders

  • Ability to balance conflicting demands whilst delivering to tight timescales

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new challenges
