About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Transformation Manager to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract. In this role you will lead the Divisional Logistics Transformation Programme, driving improvements across the division in all logistics related activities including inbound and outbound transportation, ensuring they are executed properly and in the most cost-effective way, achieving customer related objectives.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager for our Paper division and working alongside various operational teams at mills across Europe, you will monitor and coordinate the key logistics activities that are aligned to Paper’s strategic goals and ensure they are on track to deliver the committed results. You will be sponsoring and leading key strategic projects related to logistics across the Division in line with the corporate plan.

A crucial measure of success will be the ability to build relationships and influence with sites, country and regional teams as well as Divisional and Group cross functional stakeholders across the value chain. This should involve striking the balance of challenge and support of these stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, development, leadership and deployment of Divisional improvement programmes related to logistics activities.
  • Lead the process of identifying best practices and standardisation opportunities in Paper, and delivering improvement projects across the business.
  • Establish a Lean culture within Paper logistics teams and individuals to constantly strive to eliminate waste, reduce cost, improve efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Build in alignment with Finance, Sales and mill management teams a robust logistics budget/forecast with clear assumptions based on market conditions, cost driver inflation, contract indexation and productivity projects/initiatives.
  • Work closely with our Procurement function to ensure the most effective contracts for business and to identify opportunities in terms of cost and service.
  • Support and co-ordination of the Paper Division capex programme related to logistics. 

NOTE: This role requires travel to various European sites, and frequency will depend on the projects and their progress at the time.

About You

  • Degree qualified (Logistics or Supply Chain related), or equivalent via experience
  • Experience in Logistics Management in both transformation and operational roles, with strong E2E Supply Chain background
  • Ability to deliver strategic and transformational change with a sense of urgency, leading a portfolio of strategic and tactical projects/initiatives with competing resources and priorities
  • Excellent problem solving skills, capable of using information, analysis, and insights to identify and unlock strategic business opportunities.
  • Ability to build strong trusting relationships with cross functional and cross geographical stakeholders.
  • Broad understanding of Recycling/Paper/Packaging industry (principles, practices, processes, and customer requirements) will be a plus
  • Fluency in English and ideally another European language.
