The Senior HR Analyst - Reporting and Security  is a member of the People team HR Technology Operations organization within Shared Services.  In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing and optimising reporting functionalities, ensuring data integrity and maintaining security protocols within Toast’s Workday HCM system.  This role will support Toast’s People team by providing insights through data analysis, enhancing operational efficiency, and safeguarding sensitive employee information.  This role is the trusted Workday HCM Reporting and Security  authority.  You will  have the opportunity to assist stakeholders with strategic analytics, reporting and security methodology mentorship, and security configuration enhancements.

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Server as the subject matter Expert in Workday HCM Reporting, Analytics and Security 
  • Drive Reporting as as Self Service Initiative for managers, business partners and leaders 
  • Collaborates with business leaders to design and build reports to assist in data analysis, trends, and strategic planning
  • Partners with business stakeholders  to test data and report outputs for accuracy and completeness
  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of security measures that protect Toaster data within the Workday system.
  • Ensures compliance with data protection regulations and collaborates with various departments to manage security configurations and access controls. 
  • Continuously reviews and improves reporting processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Configure, maintain, and advise on security within Workday application including domain and business security policies, roles, and role assignments
  • Understands and implements Workday Security changes across various Workday modules which may include: Talent, Onboarding, Advanced Compensation, HCM Core, Benefits and Absence management
  • Work with business stakeholders to determine problem areas and overall impact of projects 
  • Understand data flows, Workday HCM business processes and system usages between internal systems and Workday.
  • Create, maintain and optimise our model for Workday reporting. Collaborate with internal partners to design and produce customised dashboards, advanced reports, and ad-hoc analyses and make it self-service.
  • Create and maintain a variety of security roles in Workday for both HR and non-HR partners including administrator roles, segmented security groups, aggregation security groups, and intersection security groups for a growing organisation with both supervisory and location-based support models.
  • Drive major Workday releases, including comprehensive plan for adoption of new features and regression testing for impacts to existing reports, dashboards and security.
  • Evaluate requests for new products to determine alignment with existing Toast systems and overall systems strategy goals. Determine security and reporting roadmap prioritisation.

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements) 

  • 5+ years of HCM Reporting, Analytics, and Data warehousing experience for enterprise software applications
  • 5+ years of proven ability building and maintaining Workday HCM Reporting & Analytics
  • Completed Workday Training for Workday Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Configurable Security, Workday Studio or equivalent experience creating various reports and in Workday 
  • Workday Certification in Workday Reporting (Preferred)
  • Understanding of data modelling concepts with an ability to manipulate data using software tools and SQL (Good to have)
  • The ideal candidate will have a broad and deep understanding of all areas of Workday Reporting & Analytics including Report Writer, Prism Analytics, Composite Reporting, Calculated Fields, Dashboards, Discovery Boards, and Worksheets
  • Preferred a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience
  • Understands how company systems are integrated within and outside of the HR organisation
  • Has worked in a highly matrixed, global organisation 
  • Experienced working in a SOX based environment and have been responsible for programs and processes that are SOX compliant
  • End-to-end process understanding with an ability to develop and maintain processes, and HR service center procedures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and sound influential skills
  • Project management experience with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage several objectives simultaneously while prioritising and executing technology roadmap plans.
  • Collaborative problem-solving approach; leverages relationships and strong business acumen to understand not only the “what” the “why” behind requests; displays empathy for partner teams
  • Ability to multitask under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment; flexible and able to respond to rapidly changing business needs
