ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manual Tester to join our team supporting a major Canadian bank. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in UI and API testing, familiarity with tools used in modern testing processes, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. This role requires excellent analytical skills, strong English communication abilities, and a solid understanding of banking applications and workflows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, execute, and document manual test cases for web and mobile applications.
- Perform UI and API testing ensuring functionality, usability, and reliability.
- Use Postman and other tools to validate API requests, responses, and workflows.
- Analyze application logs to identify defects, root causes, and performance issues.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers in an agile team environment.
- Report and track defects using Jira, ensuring clear documentation and timely resolution.
- Review and maintain project documentation in Confluence.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in UI and API manual testing.
- Working knowledge of Postman (or similar tools) for API validation.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence for test documentation and defect tracking.
- Knowledge of banking applications, systems, and processes (e.g., payments, onboarding, transactions, accounts).
- Ability to analyze and interpret application logs to support defect investigation.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure team environment.
- Very good command of English (spoken and written).
