Prima is looking to hire a UK-based Market Reporter and Research Analyst, who will be a key member of Prima’s markets and reporting team in Europe, working in conjunction with peers globally, as well as with ResourceWise’s team of business development executives worldwide. The primary function of this role will be to build Prima’s services in proprietary price and fundamentals data, leveraging this experience into the production of best-in-class analytics in Prima’s suite of subscription services.


Researching and analyzing data and producing written commentary, while ensuring ongoing client and contact relationships, will be major components of the role. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, preferably with a background in energy or low carbon fuel markets, able to work independently. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of quantitative and qualitative skills and a thirst for gaining the knowledge needed to keep Prima at the cutting edge of the energy transition. This position will report to the Senior Markets Manager.


What You'll Do

  • Development and maintenance of proprietary data series including price and fundamentals.
  • Leading the development of new regional price benchmarking indexes for markets in low carbon fuel markets.
  • Liaising with traders, brokers, governments and exchanges to obtain price and fundamental data to formulate benchmarks and populate models.
  • Forging new relationships to promote the use of Prima benchmarks as contract settlement prices.
  • Analyzing commodity supply and demand fundamentals, spot and forward market clearing prices and physical and derivatives trade.
  • Contributing to the output and development of Prima’s stable of daily and weekly reports, digital data and written analytic content.
  • Support for business development activities.


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English, written and spoken, other languages a plus
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to develop, source and produce industry-relevant business intelligence analysis and features
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to travel as needed for client meetings and presentations
  • University degree or higher in a relevant discipline
  • High degree of IT proficiency
  • Ability to work from home with access to reliable internet and communications equipment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in indexation, commodity analysis or business writing will be considered a plus
