Build a brilliant future with Hiscox

About Hiscox

As an international specialist insurer, we are far removed from the world of mass-market insurance products. Instead, we are selective and focus on our key areas of expertise and strength, underpinned by a culture that encourages us to challenge convention and always look for a better way of doing things.

We insure the unique and the interesting. And we search for the same when it comes to talented people. Hiscox is full of smart, reliable human beings that look out for customers and each other. We believe in doing the right thing, making good and rebuilding when things go wrong. Everyone is encouraged to think creatively, challenge the status quo and look for solutions.

Scratch beneath the surface and you will find a business that is solid, but slightly contrary. We like to do things differently and constantly seek to evolve. We might have been around for a long time (our roots go back to 1901), but we are young in many ways, ambitious and going places.

Some people might say insurance is dull, but life at Hiscox is anything but. If that sounds good to you, get in touch.

About the Team

The London Market Marketing and Communications team is a small, agile function that supports the promotion of the London Market business both internally and externally. Working closely with business leaders, underwriters and wider Group Marketing and Communications teams, the team delivers a broad mix of marketing, communications, events, digital content and media activity. Collaboration is at the heart of the team, with a strong focus on partnership, flexibility and supporting the strategic priorities of the business.

The Role

This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of marketing and communications activities, including content creation, website management, digital marketing, LinkedIn and social media campaigns, internal communications, media relations, events and stakeholder engagement. Acting as a key liaison between the business, external suppliers and internal stakeholders, the successful candidate will help bring marketing and communications initiatives to life while ensuring content is engaging, high quality and aligned to business objectives. The role would suit a proactive, collaborative and highly organised individual with strong written communication skills and the confidence to manage a varied workload and a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute the content marketing strategy including the creation of print and digital content across multiple channels including website, social media, and email.

  • Delivering internal and external marketing campaigns and events.

  • Ownership of www.hiscoxlondonmarket.com – making sure that content gets updated and refreshed to drive traffic and engagement.

  • Manage quarterly reporting and suggest ways to improve our programme.

  • Own and deliver external email marketing campaigns to drive broker awareness.

  • Ownership of the Hiscox Broker Academy programme, including the management of project budget.

  • Supporting Claims and Divisional Directors with their academy programmes.

  • Relationship management with key stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure marketing plans add-value to the business.

  • Support in the delivery of integrated marketing plans with key partners (i.e. Control Risks).

  • Assist underwriters in the execution of their own marketing activity by producing brochures and content.

  • Ensure the Hiscox brand is consistent with brand and digital guidelines in all activity (including communications from third parties referencing Hiscox).

  • Finding creative ways to bring our products to life.

Must haves:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar marketing and communications role, with exposure to content creation, stakeholder management and delivering campaigns that achieve measurable success.

  • Experience within the insurance industry, ideally London Market, or a strong financial services marketing and communications background, with the ability to stay abreast of key industry topics and trends.

  • Strong content creation and written communication skills, with experience producing and reviewing content across digital, internal and external channels.

  • Ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders, subject matter experts, agencies and external suppliers.

  • Understanding of broker marketing channels.

  • Experience prioritising multiple projects and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

  • A creative, entrepreneurial, and pragmatic mindset.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) coupled with strong organisational capabilities and attention to detail.

  • Forward-thinking and forward-planning abilities.

  • A proactive, collaborative and curious approach, with the confidence to work independently and as part of a small team.
