Create visual communications for product marketing, translating complex technical capabilities into clear presentations, collateral, diagrams, campaigns, launch materials, and event assets. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams, develop scalable visual systems and templates, maintain brand consistency, and manage multiple briefs across products and markets. The role requires strong information and presentation design skills, technical curiosity, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively across digital and print formats.

We’re creating the UK’s next-generation engineering powerhouse, delivering critical technology that strengthens national security and resilience.
We turn advances in sensing, AI and communications into operational capability at the edge, where connectivity may be limited or unavailable. Our work accelerates technology deployment, improves frontline decision-making, and protects people and critical assets in demanding environments.
Based in Bristol, Rowden currently employs around 200 people and operates more than 20,000 square feet of engineering and manufacturing facilities. With a growing international presence, we are one of Europe’s fastest-growing engineering businesses.
The role
As our portfolio expands into new markets and geographies, we are looking for a Mid-Senior Graphic Designer to focus on how our products are presented and understood.
Working as the primary design partner for Product Marketing, you’ll focus on turning product strategy, positioning, and technical capability into strong visual communication. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to determine how our products should be explained and presented to customers.
This is a role with real range. One week you might be shaping the visual identity and launch materials for a new product. The next, you could be working with engineers to explain a complex system, building a customer presentation for a major opportunity, or developing how a product shows up at an international event.
You will have the opportunity to get close to the product development work at Rowden, understand how our capabilities work and why they matter, and influence how a growing product portfolio is presented to global markets.
The subject matter can be complex, and that is part of the appeal. We are looking for someone who enjoys making difficult things clear, has strong visual judgement, and wants to produce work that is both beautifully executed and genuinely useful.
Candidates must be eligible for SC clearance.
More information about security clearance is available here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels

Key areas of responsibility
As Rowden's Mid-Senior Graphic Designer for Product Marketing, you will:
  • Work with the Head of Product Marketing to deliver the visual component of Rowden's product marketing and go-to-market activity.
  • Translate product positioning and technical differentiation into clear visual concepts and materials.
  • Design presentations, product collateral, one-pagers, capability documents, campaign assets, and other customer-facing material.
  • Develop technical illustrations, system diagrams, and information design that explain complex products and concepts clearly.
  • Support product launches and major industry events, determining how products and capabilities should be presented visually.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to understand the products in sufficient depth to communicate them accurately.
  • Build repeatable templates and visual systems that allow product marketing activity to scale across a growing portfolio.
  • Maintain a high and consistent standard across product marketing outputs.
  • Manage multiple briefs across different products, markets, and stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Work closely with the Design team to ensure product marketing outputs are consistent with Rowden’s wider brand and visual standards.

Key skills, experience and behaviours
We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for design and the critical thinking to match. You should have:
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design skills and creative thinking.
  • 5+ years of experience in a design role, either agency or in-house.
  • A strong portfolio with clear evidence of information design, presentation design, and complex content made visually compelling.
  • A genuine interest in complex technologies and the curiosity to understand how products work, not just how they should look.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • The ability to take a complex technical brief and make critical decisions about how to structure and communicate it visually.
  • Experience designing for both digital and print outputs.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and briefs evolve, able to adapt quickly without losing quality or focus.
  • Confidence presenting and explaining design decisions to a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in engineering, technology, defence, or another technically complex industry would be useful, but is not required.
About you
  • A precise, analytical thinker who understands that great design is not just about how something looks, but how effectively it communicates.
  • You are methodical in your approach and bring strong critical thinking to every brief - able to identify what a piece needs to do commercially before you decide how it should look.
  • You are creative and craft-led, producing work that is visually stunning as well as strategically sound.
  • You are comfortable with complexity and thrive in environments where the subject matter is demanding and the standards are high.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving instinct.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple briefs simultaneously.
  • Clear communicator who can work confidently with technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Proactive and self-directed, with a high bar for quality.
  • Adaptable and curious, with a genuine interest in what Rowden builds and why it matters.
