We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to ensure that our infrastructure and networks are properly protected. They will design, coordinate and implement security controls, audit configurations, and design networks in a hybrid compute environment. A successful candidate will have an attention to detail, the ability to understand what impacts their changes have on the network and relevant associated services.   

What you’ll be doing:  

  • Collaborate with security team and other internal groups to help gather requirements, implement solutions and support our global environment. 
  • Architect, troubleshoot, and implement firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS), and VPN concentrators into new or existing networks.
  • Design, configure, and maintain secure network access to our systems.
  • Coach and coordinate the activities of the firewall team.
  • Refine our support tools and methodologies to improve monitoring and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Utilize coding and scripting skills to automate tasks and streamline security operations.

  What we’re looking for:    

  • A seasoned network security engineer with a background in architecture, implementation, and support.
  • Knowledge and experience with firewalls, client VPN, and IPS.
  • Familiarity with scripting and coding languages.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call, night, and weekend work.
  • Passion for high-quality work and relentless pursuit of continuous improvement.
  • Deep knowledge of network protocols such as TCP, UDP, IP, and understanding of the OSI Model, including Layers 1/2/3, etc.  
  • The ability to dissect and analyze network packet captures to investigate security incidents and identify failures.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive view of security that encompasses all facets of engineering and operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
