Job Description
Role: Operational Risk Manager - 6-month fixed-term contract
Location: Kitt Green, Wigan UK
Working hours: Monday-Friday 8-4:30pm
Please note - this role is a fixed-term contract for 6-months - an immediate start would be preferred. Interviews will take place week commencing 28/05/25.

Role Purpose
We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Operational Risk Manager to join our team at Kraft Heinz. As a key member of our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team, you'll play a vital role in driving continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance across our site. You'll have a passion for delivering a safer workplace and a proven track record of implementing effective risk management processes. You'll be working closely with operational teams to identify areas for improvement, develop and implement robust safety systems, and ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety legislation.
The perfect candidate for this role will have drive andpassion - someone who is committed to creating a safer, more sustainable workplace in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at a Senior Management level.
A natural problem-solver, you'll also have a keen eye for detail and a talent for simplifying complex information.
What You'll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with Operations Managers & Process Owners to design and implement safe systems and processes;
  • Analyse safety data and conduct management reviews to drive continuous improvement;
  • Deliver engaging training sessions to promote a safety-first culture;
  • Ensure compliance with country legislation and regulatory requirements;
  • Develop and implement plans to improve our KHMS (Kraft Heinz Management System);
  • compliance in a high-volume production environment;
  • Maximising regulatory compliance and minimising our environmental impact.


What You'll Have

  • NEBOSH certification (or equivalent);
  • Proven experience in managing EHS improvements in a complex, multifunctional site;
  • Strong understanding of EHS management systems and external agency relationships;
  • Track record of implementing systems and demonstrating improvements in EHS metrics;
  • Excellent communication, training, and coaching skills;
  • Ability to simplify complex legislation for diverse stakeholders;
  • Experience dealing with Health and Safety government officials;
  • In-depth knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation, including Fire and Environment regulations.
