We are looking for a talented and dedicated Behavioural Scientist that comes from a pensions background to join our growing digital team.
The ideal candidate will have experience across a variety of qualitative and quantitative behavioural research methodologies, will have conducted comprehensive studies on user behaviour and decision-making processes and be able to use their analytical skills to interpret the data gathered to identify patterns, trends and user behaviours to provide actionable insights that informs decision-making within Capita Pensions Solutions.
This is a new role working with two of Capita Pensions Solutions’ clients that will ensure we apply the principles of behavioural science to understand and influence user behaviours related to pension management and retirement planning. You will have a genuine impact on our customers, and will be well positioned to gain recognition for you and your work

Job Description:

Responsibilities include

• Apply behavioural principles to design features that enhance usability and encourage desired user behaviours.
• Conduct behavioural research to identify user pain points, motivations, and decision-making processes at different stages of the customer journey.
• Analyse user behaviours and patterns to inform journey mapping, ensuring it reflects real user experiences and touchpoints.
• Develop interventions that guide users through the journey more effectively, such as nudges or reminders to encourage positive actions.
• Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of pension-related digital platforms, tools, and services. Identify usability issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Simplify complex pension-related concepts using behavioural framing techniques to make them more understandable and actionable for users.
• Design and implement studies that explore user attitudes, behaviours, and experiences with pension products and services.
• Use qualitative and quantitative methods, such as interviews, surveys, and experiments, to gather comprehensive user insights.
• Analyse research data to identify behavioural trends and insights that can inform UX strategies.
• Translate complex behavioural data into actionable insights for the UX team.
• Collaborate with UX designers to create interfaces that align with users' cognitive and emotional needs.
• Conduct A/B testing and other experimental methods to test design hypotheses and iterate based on user feedback and behavioural data.
• Develop content strategies that use behavioural insights to craft messages that resonate with users and motivate action

What are we looking for

Essential

• Pensions experience
• Experience in conducting comprehensive studies on user behaviour and decision-making processes
• Proficiency in a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, card sorting, ethnographic studies, and diary studies. Understand when and how to apply each method to gather relevant insights.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret both qualitative and quantitative data gathered from user research activities.
• Ability to identify patterns, trends, and user behaviours, and derive actionable insights to inform decision-making.
• Can demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to empathize with pension users and articulate in a clear, concise and compelling manner findings in front of stakeholders at all levels of our organization
