Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

You will working in our Billing domain, the engine room that ensures our energy retail clients can bill accurately across diverse global markets. Your mission is to provide a highly flexible "decisioning engine" that coordinates complex data inputs -meter reads, third-party tariff data, and regional regulatory rules - into a seamless billing process.
What will I be doing?

Your mission is to provide a highly flexible "decisioning engine" that coordinates complex data inputs—meter reads, third-party tariff data, and regional regulatory rules—into a seamless billing process. You will help provide product oversight and leadership within an aggressive and intricate client delivery programme.
Responsibilities:

  • Drive the product roadmap for the billing coordination engine, the part of the product that decides when and what we should bill.
  • Design flexible "decisioning" frameworks that allow clients to define billing triggers and business rules without custom code for every new market or jurisdiction.
  •  Work cross-functionally with engineering, data, and customer success to ensure the engine can ingest disparate data sources and output a perfected billing file.
  • Translate complex market-specific requirements (e.g., regional tax rules, varied billing cycles, or specific line-item mandates) into re-usable and configurable global features.
  • Proactively gather insights from international energy retailers to understand the friction points in their current billing processes and solve them through automation.
  • Align with stakeholders to drive alignment and innovation across your immediate teams.
  • Use both qualitative and quantitative data to inform and defend your product decisions.

Is this the job for me?

You are the right person for us if you:

  • Are a "Systems Thinker" who understands how data flows between disparate systems and how to coordinate them.
  • Have experience in complex workflow orchestration, ideally within a SaaS environment that handles high-volume transactional processing.
  • Possess Domain Expertise, with experience working within the energy world and its many nuances.
  • Are an excellent communicator, able to explain the logic of a complex billing run to both developers and client-side operations leads.
  • Are highly collaborative and able to structure workshops to drive alignment.
  • Are curious and always looking for ways to make yourself and your products better.
  • Adapt to the evolving needs of a fast-moving global business.
  • Champion user-centered design and Kaluza's vision.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with multi-market SaaS platforms, particularly those dealing with localized regulatory or language requirements.
  • A background in Business Process Automation (BPA) or workflow engine design.
  • Experience in the energy or utilities sector, specifically dealing with the "handoff" between market data providers and retail billing systems.
  • Financial understanding or knowledge of the nuances of the European energy market.
  • Familiarity with agile ways-of-working and using Jira and Confluence to track work.

Interview Process:
