Programme Manager – Insurance Transformation

Location: London (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Insurance | Type: Permanent

Lead large-scale insurance transformation programmes that combine deep domain expertise with structured programme delivery.

The Role
Capco is seeking a highly experienced Programme Manager to join our Insurance practice in London. You will lead complex transformation programmes across Life & Pensions, General Insurance, and Commercial & Specialty Insurance, working with leading insurers to deliver strategic, regulatory, operational, and technology change.

Operating at the intersection of business and technology, you will oversee multi-workstream initiatives such as core platform modernisation, digital underwriting and claims transformation, regulatory implementation, and post-merger integration. Your insurance domain expertise will enable you to challenge assumptions, guide strategic decisions, and deliver measurable outcomes in highly regulated environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead delivery of complex, multi-workstream transformation programmes across insurance organisations, spanning business, operations, and technology change

  • Manage programme governance, budgets, delivery roadmaps, RAID management, and executive stakeholder communications

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including project managers, business analysts, architects, and SMEs across underwriting, claims, policy administration, and distribution

  • Partner with senior client stakeholders to shape programme strategy, define delivery approaches, and resolve complex delivery challenges

  • Contribute to business development through proposal development, account growth, and thought leadership across the insurance market

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience leading large-scale transformation programmes within Insurance (General Insurance, Life & Pensions, or Commercial & Specialty)

  • Proven consulting experience delivering complex client-facing change initiatives

  • Strong understanding of core insurance operations including underwriting, claims, policy administration, and distribution

  • Experience delivering digital, regulatory, or platform-led transformation programmes within regulated environments

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and navigate matrix organisations

Bonus Points For

  • Experience delivering core insurance platform transformation (e.g. Guidewire or policy administration modernisation)

  • Exposure to regulatory initiatives such as IFRS17, Consumer Duty, or other regulatory-driven programmes

  • Experience leading post-merger integration or operating model transformation within insurance

  • Knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks combined with traditional programme governance approaches

  • Professional certifications such as MSP, PRINCE2, or PMP

Why Join Capco

  • Deliver high-impact transformation programmes for leading global insurers

  • Work in a collaborative, flat, and entrepreneurial consulting culture

  • Access continuous learning, training, and industry certifications

  • Be part of a team shaping the future of digital insurance ecosystems

  • Help drive innovation across the Insurance sector and wider financial services markets
