About Us

MarketAxess is on a journey to digitally transform one of the world’s largest financial markets, enabling the shift from analog, phone-based trading to a fully electronic marketplace. Why does this matter? Because our platform makes trading fixed-income more accessible, ultimately improving transparency, efficiency, and competition in the marketplace. Changing the way an established industry transacts is no easy feat. There will be twists and turns, because no one’s ever done this before. But now, more than 2,000 clients around the world rely on our solutions, and that number is only expected to grow in the years ahead. We know where we’re going. How we get there is up to us. Join us and help Take Us There.

The Role

The Regulatory Data Analyst is responsible for monitoring and maintaining MarketAxess' Trading and Post Trade Regulatory Data, ensuring that data is compliant with regulatory requirements and maintained to a high standard. The incumbent will be supporting regulatory data that services MarketAxess’ Multilateral Trading Facilities (UK and Europe) and Pre/Post Trade Services.

How You’ll Help Take Us There

  • Perform in‑depth analysis across multiple datasets using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office, SQL, Tableau, and Xceptor to identify coverage, data quality, and timeliness gaps within MiFID II datasets
  • Reconcile data across internal and external platforms, proactively identifying discrepancies and escalating recommendations to enhance data quality and better support business and regulatory requirements
  • Manage daily MiFID II reference data activities with precision and efficiency, responding to enquiries from internal stakeholders while supporting regulatory obligations and clients who subscribe to MarketAxess regulatory data products
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, external vendors, and key internal stakeholders to strengthen the regulatory data delivery chain, developing a strong end‑to‑end understanding of data flows and identifying opportunities to streamline and optimise existing processes
  • Provide analytical support to Legal and Compliance teams as required, contributing to the fulfillment of regulatory reporting obligations
  • Support and quality‑assure data provided by third‑party suppliers, participating in regular service review calls to ensure delivery meets agreed service levels and contractual expectations
  • Triage, investigate, and respond to client issues raised both internally and externally, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication
  • Contribute to the execution of the Operations Risk and Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA), ensuring risks and controls are accurately documented, maintained, and routinely tested

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
  • 1+ years of demonstrated experience working within a data management or data governance environment
  • Proficiency in data analytics, with SQL required
  • Ability to incorporate AI into daily workflows; passion for ethical adoption of AI practices
  • Proven experience handling large datasets, paired with the confidence and communication skills to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to introduce innovative ideas that enhance existing regulatory and data quality processes
  • A solid understanding of Fixed Income markets; familiarity with MiFID II regulations and their business impact is highly desirable
  • Experience with data reconciliation tools and data visualization or presentation platforms is a plus
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the UK permanently without employment visa sponsorship required now or in the future
