In our commercial modifications team, we are proud to operate under our EASA Part21J Design Organization Approval; with a clear mission: to become the number one customer choice for aircraft retrofit solutions in the commercial aviation market. Our international team, with strong presences in Munich and Hamburg, specializes in interior retrofit projects, ranging from halon fire extinguisher replacements to full cabin tube strips.

In this role you will: 

 

  • Be responsible for certification activities for aircraft seating products, with the Boeing Commercial Airplanes business unit, to produce STCs that allow for the post-delivery installation of new seating products  

  • Be a Boeing representative for stress, engineering and certification topics relating to integration of airplane seating   

  • Perform analytical and finite element (FE) calculations, assess and predict structural failure modes incl. execution of root cause analysis  

  • Compile structural substantiation documents and review data from our suppliers for integration approval of seats (all types of seats including unique features) into the airframe  

  • Work closely with our Boeing teams and other stakeholders to ensure the aircraft cabin is delivered in the correct condition and quality

What you bring to the table: 

 

Basic qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, within Stress/Structures/Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering  

  • 5+ years' experience in commercial aircraft design with an EASA Part 21, Subpart J Design Organization (or equivalent)    

 

Additionally preferred skills:  

 

  • Experience: You have solid experience with EASA regulatory and applicable airworthiness requirements, e.g. CS-, JAR- and FAR-25 including related AC’s and AMC’s (relevant to §25.562) as well as first experience within seat development and certification - from beginning up to approval including test witnessing and (E-)TSO programs 

  • Knowledge: You show a high level of attention to detail and bring experience with aircraft interior modification programs including certifying novel seat features such as pre-tensioners and air bags. You thrive while working on multiple programs with varying levels of requirements  

  • Collaboration: You are experienced in working effectively with colleagues and customers  

  • Tools: You can demonstrate Proficiency with our key engineering tools: Altair HyperWorks, PATRAN / NASTRAN  

  • Personality: You are a principled, reliable professional who values integrity, safety, and accountability, always striving for the highest standards of quality and ethical conduct.
