Role Type: Full-time

Engagement: Independent Contractor

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Account Manager to take ownership of key client relationships while helping lead and strengthen our Account Management function.

You’ll manage accounts from the moment they’re handed over by Sales, through role intake, recruitment delivery, interviews, offers, and successful placements, followed by retention and account growth.

Working closely with our Head of Operations and Talent, you’ll make sure clients and recruiters stay aligned, hiring processes keep moving, and every viable role has the best possible chance of converting into a placement.

This is a hands-on role for someone who leads by example. You’ll manage your own portfolio of accounts while coaching the wider Account Management team, improving how we work, and raising the standard of client delivery across the business.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage the Full Client Journey
  • Own client relationships from the initial Sales handoff through onboarding, recruitment delivery, placement, retention, and growth.
  • Lead detailed intake calls to understand hiring needs and translate them into clear, actionable briefs for the recruitment team.
  • Advise clients on candidate profiles, compensation, timelines, and market expectations.
  • Work closely with recruiters to monitor progress, resolve blockers, and keep searches moving forward.
  • Drive timely feedback, interview scheduling, and clear next steps throughout the hiring process.
  • Manage offer conversations and support both sides through to a successful placement.
  • Maintain strong relationships after placement and identify opportunities for repeat hiring and account expansion.
Lead & Support the AM Team
  • Coach and support Account Managers to improve client management, communication, commercial awareness, and overall performance.
  • Establish clear expectations and KPIs around placement rates, fill rates, retention, responsiveness, and account growth.
  • Identify at-risk accounts early and support the team in resolving issues before they impact delivery.
  • Create a culture where Account Managers take ownership of results rather than simply managing client communication.
Deliver an Excellent Client Experience
  • Set a high standard for client communication across the Account Management function.
  • Keep clients proactively informed throughout the recruitment process, with clear updates, next steps, and expectations.
  • Build trusted relationships by understanding each client’s priorities and anticipating their needs.
  • Navigate challenging conversations confidently and push back constructively when expectations are unrealistic.
Strengthen Processes & Performance
  • Improve processes across Sales handoffs, client onboarding, follow-ups, account reviews, and escalations.
  • Create clear operating rhythms that help Account Managers and recruiters work effectively together.
  • Monitor account performance and use data to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Prioritise accounts based on their likelihood of success and commercial potential.
  • Identify inefficient processes and introduce practical improvements as the business scales.

Requirements
  • Strong full-cycle account management experience, ideally within recruitment, staffing, RPO, talent marketplaces, or a related industry.
  • Experience managing client relationships from onboarding through delivery, placement, retention, and growth.
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or coaching Account Managers, ideally within a remote team.
  • Experience improving or building processes within a startup or scale-up environment.
  • Strong understanding of metrics including placement rate, fill rate, time-to-fill, retention, and account growth.
  • Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial judgment with the ability to identify repeat business and account growth opportunities.
  • Confidence managing challenging conversations and setting realistic expectations with clients.
  • Ability to spot risks early, solve problems quickly, and keep multiple accounts moving at the same time.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable being accountable for results.

Benefits

🌎 Fully remote role with the opportunity to work in a fast-growing international business.

🚀 High-impact leadership position with ownership of a core revenue and fulfilment function.

🛠️ Build the function your way where you shape processes, KPIs, communication standards, and operating rhythms.

📈 Strong career growth and ownership as our Account Management team and client base expand.

🤝 Work closely with senior leadership and collaborate across Sales, Account Management, Operations, and Talent.

🎯 Performance-driven environment where success is measured by placements, retention, client satisfaction, and account growth.
