Change.org is searching for an experienced Senior Campaigns & Communications Strategist or Campaigns & Communications Manager to support our petition starters and drive some of the biggest media and social media moments dominating the conversation in the UK.
You will report to our UK Senior Communications Manager. As a key member of the UK Team, you’ll identify strong campaigns for email, social media and press; stay abreast of compelling issues and news stories for campaign selection and escalation; draft mobilising emails for a wide audience; use media to drive campaign impact; negotiate with decision makers and organise newsworthy petition deliveries.

Key Outcomes:
- Routinely drive some of the biggest Change.org campaign moments, centring our amazing petition starters.
- Dominate the media and social media with stories around petition starters and their campaigns.
- Organise and publicise petition deliveries and other campaign stunts, and engage with some of the most important elected officials and decision makers in the UK.
- Grow awareness of Change.org and the campaigns on our platform among media and decision makers across the UK.
- Engage Change.org’s email audience with high-performing content.
The most important core competencies for the role are:
- Strategic mindset, with innovative ideas around how to use digital campaigning to power local and national campaigns.
- Strong understanding of how to organise large-scale campaigns for social change and getting the attention of decision-makers.
- Expert knowledge of landing media coverage, including top-tier digital, print and broadcast outlets.
- Existing connections with civil society, decision makers, journalists and influencers who could help tell the story of the people who come to Change.org to take action.
- Extremely strong written and oral communication skills, with experience writing press pitches, marketing emails and social content.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapid response environment.
- A strong sense of the campaigns that will perform well on social media.
- Willingness to work across differences, including providing support to policy-compliant campaigns that you may not agree with, but that align with Change.org’s commitment to being an open platform.
Target experience:
- 5+ years working in strategy, campaigning, communications or media — with demonstrable experience of digital campaigning.
- Expert social media mobilisation skills are a plus.

This is a full-time hybrid role, where we expect you to be in the London office 2-3 days per week, with flexibility to work remotely for the rest of the week.
Our compensation philosophy is based on pay equity. All of our salaries are determined before we launch a role – they are based on a predetermined salary scale, the level on that scale and the cost of labor for that location. This role can be filled with different levels of seniority - we will assess a candidate’s level during the hiring process. The annual salary of a Campaigns & Communications Manager is £75,500 in the UK.
