SALARY: £70,929 - £90,000 per annum

LOCATION: Bristol

HOURS: Full-time – 35 hours

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Bristol office.

About this opportunity…

Are you ready to help reimagine how people plan, protect, and save for their future? We’re looking for a passionate and forward-thinking professional to play a key role in shaping our digital proposition. You’ll collaborate across teams and partners to design, build, test, and deploy innovative solutions that empower our colleagues and deliver real value to our customers.

The Finance Platform – AI & Agentic team is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team! If you thrive on enabling high-performing software teams, automating cloud infrastructure, and building secure, scalable solutions, this role is for you.

You’ll play a key role in crafting and delivering our Infrastructure strategy, applying modern cloud-native technologies to accelerate software delivery, improve operational resilience, and ensure compliance with security and engineering standards. There is a strong need for Platform Reliability & Automation as a key focus area in this role.

About us…

We’re on an exciting journey and there couldn’t be a better time to join us. The investments we’re making in our people, data, and technology are leading to innovative projects, fresh possibilities, and countless new ways for our people to work, learn, and thrive.

What you’ll do…

  • Design, build and deliver new cloud infrastructure that powers our AI, Agentic and Automation solutions, applications and platforms

  • Keep our existing cloud systems running smoothly and evolving with our needs

  • Share your expertise and support with the wider engineering team, working in an Agile feature team

  • Champion best practices in infrastructure security, resilience, and reliability

  • Make sure our platforms scale effectively with the right capacity and triggers, automating as much as possible

  • Guide our use of GCP architecture, connectivity with other platforms and our on-premise infrastructure through IDP and Harness

What you’ll need…

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about cloud infrastructure and automation, and ready to make an impact. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Strong experience across cloud infrastructure – compute, storage, networking, and security. Knowing the path to Production for multiple cloud technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with provisioning, container design, connectivity between various internal platforms (AI, Machine Learning, MCP servers, API enablement), Kubernetes and container technologies.

  • A solid understanding of cloud security models (IAM, Service Principals, VPCs).

  • Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g. Terraform or similar tools).

  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.

  • A proactive mindset, always looking for ways to improve and optimise.

And any experience of these would be really useful…

  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure (for managing our Fabric tenancies)

  • Understanding of FinOps

  • Managing on-prem Linux infrastructure

  • Use of Docker in local development environments (e.g. devcontainers, Docker Compose)

About working for us…

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture. And it’s why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups. We’re disability confident. So if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes…

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top

  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
