Job DescriptionThe Platform Engineering Tribe:
We are the backbone of Wise's technical infrastructure, ensuring everything runs smoothly for our customers and engineering teams. Our Reliability squad combines expertise in systems availability and uptime, monitoring performance metrics, and developing robust applications, to create a resilient platform that our customers can depend on 24/7/365.
The Reliability Analyst Role:
This is your chance to revolutionise how Wise understands and improves platform reliability. You'll be the data storyteller who connects technical metrics to real customer experiences, transforming abstract reliability concepts into business impact narratives that drive action. As our dedicated reliability analyst, you'll build the analytics foundation that helps us predict, prevent, and quickly resolve issues before they affect customers. Your insights will directly influence how we design, build, and operate our systems, making you a key player in our mission to create the most dependable financial platform in the world.
About You:
We're looking for someone who has driven meaningful change through their analytics work. What excites us most is understanding the tangible impact you've created - whether that's identifying insights that shifted product strategy, building models that improved customer experience, or developing dashboards that transformed how teams make decisions. We want to hear about the moments when your analysis didn't just sit in a report, but actually changed how your company operated, saved costs, increased revenue, or solved real business problems. The specific metrics matter less than the story of how your analytical thinking translated into concrete outcomes that moved the needle for your organisation.
Technical Skills:
Excellent SQL proficiency and experience with data visualization tools like Looker, Grafana, ELK, or Superset
Understanding of reliability engineering concepts (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets) and experience working with complex system performance data
Ability to build and manage data pipelines using tools like DBT and Airflow
Python skills for data analysis and automation
Soft Skills:
Systems Thinking: Ability to understand complex interdependencies between services and customer journeys
Storytelling with Data: Exceptional capacity to translate technical metrics into meaningful business impact narratives
Collaborative Mindset: Skill in working across engineering teams to drive reliability improvements without direct authority
Curiosity: A desire to deeply understand how our systems work and why they sometimes fail
Why Should You Join Our Team?
At Wise, reliability isn't just an engineering concern—it's a business imperative:
Mission-Critical Impact: Your work directly affects our customers' trust and experience, when we're reliable, money moves instantly across borders
Career Growth: This role puts you at the intersection of technology and business strategy
