About the team

This role will support the FT Professional pillar. They are part of the Product & Technology department, and their focus is to launch & grow groundbreaking new products to attract and elevate our B2B business model. As a Senior Analyst, you will provide actionable insight to help the team make decisions as well as project manage all analytics related components. You will report into the Insight & Analytics team, but will have close working relationships with the Product Managers across FT Professional. 


About the Role

Over the next few years we have ambitious targets to grow the FT’s global paying audience. This can only be achieved with the tools, knowledge and insights provided by the Data Analytics team. We are looking for someone who has a curiosity for interrogating data, is masterful in experimentation and understands the value of storytelling with data.


Main Responsibilities

Communication and storytelling 

  • A proven ability to tell compelling stories and provide actionable insights using data 

  • Enthusiasm for data visualisation, and familiarity with techniques and tools

  • Desire to keep the customer in the room, and understand their needs and requirements from the FT.


Technical proficiency 

  • Analyst experience and experience with web analytics

  • Proven SQL and Excel skills, and experience working with analytical reporting tools, e.g. Looker/Tableau/PowerBI

  • Thorough, inquisitive, with an eye for data quality 

  • Experience of A/B or multivariate testing and statistical test design

  • Desirable: Experience working with customer data


Stakeholder & Workload management 

  • Experience of stakeholder management; across both technical and non-technical departments

  • Close collaboration with other Data and Analytics disciplines; BI, Data Science, User Research, Audience Feedback, Data Platforms, Tracking Architecture & Governance etc. 

  • Ability to manage numerous simultaneous projects and effectively prioritise workload.

  • Ability to lead small groups of analysts to collaborate on projects.
