As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will support financial planning, forecasting, and decision-making for our Business Technology and Security organizations. You’ll serve as the primary finance partner to these teams, helping guide investment decisions across core infrastructure, enterprise systems, security, and internal AI tooling.
In this role, you’ll own the financial narrative across operating expenses and headcount, partnering closely with leaders across Business Technology, Security, Product, Engineering, and Finance. You’ll help evaluate tradeoffs, improve cost visibility, and support the scaling of new and evolving capabilities—particularly in areas like AI—while maintaining strong financial discipline.
This role requires strong analytical thinking, clear communication, and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving in an environment with evolving priorities, complex cost structures, and high visibility across the organization.
Key responsibilities- Serve as the dedicated FP&A partner for HubSpot’s Business Technology and Security teams, owning financial planning and management across operating expenses and headcount.
- Lead core financial planning rhythms, including annual planning, monthly forecasts, and ongoing budget management.
- Partner with business leaders to evaluate investments, tradeoffs, and resource allocation decisions, providing clear financial guidance and decision support.
- Analyze operating expense and headcount performance, delivering variance analysis, insights, and recommendations to improve visibility and forecast accuracy.
- Build and maintain financial models to support planning, scenario analysis, and strategic decision-making.
- Support headcount planning and investment tracking to ensure alignment with business priorities and financial targets.
- Partner with Business Technology and Security teams to support financial planning and cost management of internal and enterprise AI tooling, helping evaluate usage, scalability, and return on investment.
- Prepare materials for management reviews, clearly communicating risks, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and automation to help the business and finance organization scale effectively.
- 3+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or a similar analytical role.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and organizational skills, with the ability to translate complex inputs into clear insights and recommendations.
- Curiosity and excitement for AI and emerging technologies, with experience applying AI tools or supporting AI-enabled process improvements in previous roles.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, with the ability to work effectively across financial models, reporting, and presentations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- A self-starter who operates effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapts to changing priorities, and takes ownership of outcomes.
- Experience supporting technology-focused, SaaS, business systems, infrastructure, or security-related teams.
- Experience building models for complex operating environments, including cost allocations, shared services, and internal chargeback methodologies.
- Experience with financial systems and analytics tools such as Looker, NetSuite, Anaplan, or similar platforms.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements or automation, including the use of AI to improve efficiency and decision support.
- Ability to work Eastern or Central time zone hours, given the collaboration needs of the role.

Pay & Benefits
The cash compensation below includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
