ABOUT THE JOB

Gunzilla Games is looking to recruit a Senior Game Designer to join us in working on weapons design and balancing for our game OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Extraction Battle Royale shooter, currently available as Early Access on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series X|S, and PC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Game Designer, you will:

  • Take ownership of the Design of weapons driving end-to-end implementation across the team.
  • Maintain clear design and technical documents using Confluence, JIRA, and Microsoft Office tools alongside other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with other developers and designers to share and gather essential information and be consistent within your work.
  • Communicate and present designs clearly to your team and management across all disciplines.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ Years experience in AAA game development in a senior role.
  • Proven experience in game design with an emphasis on multiplayer and/or live “as a service” games.
  • Proficiency in using Unreal Engine 5 or 4 and Blueprints.
  • Adapt or rework designs when needed to meet any technical or production constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at conveying ideas and collaborating effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with designers, programmers, and artists to ensure across-the-board consistency.
  • Stay up to date on best practices to keep up with the industry, develop your skills, and refresh your knowledge.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive design documentation and specifications.

BONUS SKILLS

  • Experience with third-person shooter mechanics.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools.
  • Strong scripting and coding skills for rapid prototyping.
  • Knowledge of current gaming trends and player behaviors.
  • Experience with AI design and behavior scripting.
