Ensera Design is a world-class user-centred innovation and product development consultancy, specializing in the medical and consumer health sectors with offices in Bristol, Colorado and New Jersey. As part of Ensera, we collaborate globally with contract manufacturing facilities in Europe, the USA, and Asia.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Design Engineer) to join our talented team and contribute to delivering exceptional solutions for our clients. 

About you

You are a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Design Engineer) working in consultancy, industry or at a start-up within the medical device sector. You are a methodical and systematic thinker with a passion for understanding how products work and understanding the needs of the user.

You will bring your own skills to add depth to our team, so you’ll need to be a team player who thrives on collaborating with others across different skillsets including software, electronics and design.

Your skills and experience

We think someone with 5+ years of experience is likely to have the level of competence we are looking for. Whilst you do not need to meet all of these points, please ensure you meet the majority of them before making an application:

  • A keen focus on the use of engineering principles and analysis techniques to guide the design of electromechanical systems.

  • Highly experienced in using 3D CAD and generating 2D drawings (SolidWorks is an advantage but not essential).

  • Knowledge and experience of manufacturing processes and DfMA techniques.

  • Experience in the design of mechanical systems and products from concept through to manufacture.

  • Experience in medical device development (ISO13485) and risk management processes (ISO14971).

  • Understanding and demonstrable experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Mentoring and management of junior team members.

  • Excellent presentation skills including written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent client relationship management (ideally consultancy experience)

  • Experience in leading projects, taking responsibility for delivery quality outputs on time and on budget.

 

The salary for this role is in line with our Senior salary band, from £51,000 to £73,954. Please note we ask you to provide your expected salary within the band as part of your application, this helps us understand how you view your experience against the role’s scope.
